This self-portrait showed up in my FB memories today and made me smile. I don’t remember painting it at all, but I know that I did. I probably don’t remember it because I made it less than 3 months after my dad died and I don’t remember much from that time other than a lot of crying. But today I’m seeing it with fresh eyes and it a much different life.

What about you? Have you ever found a piece of your own artwork that you don’t remember making? Have you ever been surprised by your old work?

This coloring page from my Merry Moments and Memories coloring book is an homage to my mom's incredible pie-making skills. Fun fact: she won a blue ribbon at the Oregon State Fair for her cherry pie. 🍒🥧

My sister-in-law, Reina, who is a pie aficionado and a talented colorist, chose to color this page during our Thanksgiving holiday. She did an amazing job bringing this slice of pie to life!

I hope all of you get to enjoy as much pie as your heart desires this season.

I colored part of the Santa mug, and then my 3 year old nephew took over from there. I'll let you decide who colored which part. Either way, it was very fun to make merry memories with my family this Thanksgiving.

Happy Thanksgiving to all of you! Gobble Gobble!

This page from Merry Moments & Memories was inspired by a cherished family tradition. Every year, the day after Thanksgiving, my mom picks out two Christmas trees—one for decorating and one to transform into beautiful handmade wreaths. It's her way of officially kicking off the holiday season, and every wreath she makes is filled with care and creativity.

This design is a little homage to her craft and the warmth she brings to our holidays.

💡 If you're looking for a way to wind down this season, grab a copy of Merry Moments and Memories and color your way through some festive nostalgia. Available on Amazon. Link in bio.

This is probably my favorite page from my coloring book! It reminds me of the kind of old-town, small-town Christmas decorations you might find—a classic, nostalgic vibe with those festive swags of greenery and lights stretched across the streets. (Is there an actual word for those? If you know, tell me!) I just love how it feels like stepping into a vintage holiday postcard. What does this scene remind you of?

🎃 Spooky Season Alert! 🎃

Introducing my Halloween Headshots fabric design, now available on Spoonflower! 🦇👻🎃

You know what’s really scary? It’s not just the ghouls and goblins—it’s putting my artwork out there. Self-promotion can feel awkward sometimes, especially when I’m balancing it with my part-time job. But I’ve set a goal for myself this month to share more of my work, time permitting, so that others can enjoy it too.

So here it is: a playful, spooky pattern featuring everything from pumpkins and witches to clowns—perfect for bringing some Halloween fun to any project!

I got to combine a few of my loves for this fun project. 1. Pattern design & fabrics. 2. Creative Living competitions at 3. Working with my mom on creative endeavors.

My mom and I teamed up and entered the Table Setting Competition at the Oregon State Fair this year. We chose the 50s Diner theme. Our goal was to replicate an authentic 50s diner experience.

We used as many genuine pieces from the 50s as we could find. Big shout out to for lending us the table and dishes!

I created a pink and teal version of my Harmonious Harlequin pattern design and purchased the placemats and napkins from . I'm so chuffed by how they turned out!

My mom made the black and white flooring herself, and it really ties the whole experience together. I designed the menu with input from my Aunt Ellen and a nod to my dad's love of apple pie with a slice of cheddar.

Fingers crossed that we come home with a ribbon!!

It’s brat girl summer. I’ve probably just ruined it for everyone because I’m old, I don’t totally understand it, and I’ve used it for inspiration for a pattern design. Is it still a trend (or brat?) anymore if the elder generation knows about it?

This is the first time I’ve been inspired by a tiktok trend. I blame my brother who sends me several tiktok videos a day. I now send him an equal number of tiktok videos a day. I guess tiktok isn’t cool anymore either.

Either way, I really love this design and it’s my current entry in the Yes, Chef design challenge. Voting ends on Tuesday.

My last entry got a whopping 13 votes!!

Happy Memorial Day!

This nostalgic pattern design was created to resemble the webbing of the iconic folding lawn chairs of my childhood. You can still buy these types of chairs today if you long for the feeling of your flesh poking through the gaps. Or your dog’s leg getting stuck in one. Or dad making you spend a hot summer afternoon replacing the webbing.

Times were different back then and comfort was considered an unnecessary luxury.

Speaking of luxury items. I was watching the Steve Martin documentary on Apple TV a couple of weeks ago and Steve reads a monologue from his short play WASP. It was relevant back in the day in an entirely different way than it is now. But I think it pretty much sums up the age of the internet influencer:

“You know what a luxury item is? A luxury item is a thing that you have the annoys other people that you have it. Like our very green lawn. That’s a luxury item. Oh, it could be less green, I suppose; but that’s not what it’s about. I work on that lawn, maybe more than I should and pour a little bit of money into it, but it’s a luxury item for me, out there to annoy the others. And let’s be fair; they have their luxury items that annoy me. On the corner, that mailbox made out of a ship’s chain. Now there’s no way I wouldn’t like that out in front of our house, but I went for the lawn.”
