How To Make A Perfect Coffee-Stained Tank Top:

Step 1.) Make Coffee. Extra Strong and Dark Roast Work Best!

Step 2.) Realize You Forgot Creamer. Add One Packet of Swiss Miss Hot Chocolate to Make Up For It.

Step 3.) Set Hot, Dark Coffee on Dresser.

Step 4.) Use the Bathroom as You Wait For Coffee to Cool.

Step 5.) Come Back to Coffee and Aggressively Grab At It.

Step 6.) Knock Coffee Over on Dresser. (Leave Drawers Below Cracked Open Just Enough For Coffee To Dribble In. Works Best If You Don't Realize It Right Away.)

Step 7.) Panic

Step 8.) Grab Your Favorite Tank Top From The Laundry Basket.

Step 9.) Throw Tank on Coffee Puddle.

Step 10.) Say $%*& 3-7 Times

Step 11.) Lay Flat to Dry.

VOILA! New Tank Top!

It's been nearly a year since my last post. Back then, things were looking up in a major way. I was super excited to get a monthly spot to vend. I did exactly one day, and the world shut down. I took it as an opportunity to reorganize my crafting supplies and get my priorities straight. I needed to find out exactly what I wanted to be doing. I have changed my crafting space to three different rooms in 11 months. Nothing felt right, or someone needed the room, or whatever the case. It has been a constant adjustment period. A few days ago, I started with space #4, which I hope will be the one. I guess it will have to be because there is no where else to go :D

I have plenty in mind for projects, and even though I really don't want to use Etsy, and have avoided it since the beginning, there is another opportunity that I have, but I must have my own Etsy page to do it. The bullet will be bitten, and that's fine.

I also have broken two of my sewing machines, and have to learn how to fix them before I can continue. I was lucky enough to be given about seven of them, but some are antiques, and I don't know how to repair any of them. I had to hand-sew both sets of curtains in my dining room. Do you know how long that takes? 😁

Another thing that I wanted to add, is that any music-themed merch that I make will be sold on damngoodtunes.com. Record bowls, band-shirt purses and bags, etc. will all be available in the next month or so. I am setting up an area in my space just for taking photos of products.

I appreciate those of you who have found interest in what I have been doing, and liking my page, even though I haven't been posting. I think about Doom Bug every single day of my life, and it's extremely important to me. I'm just not great at getting on social media and sharing, though I know I should, and I receive a ton of support from friends, family, and strangers to continue, and I appreciate that with all my heart.

A few days ago, I tried making a Dots candy scrunchie by hand-sewing. It turned out ok but today I made a dinosaur-costume-material one with my machine, and I'm in love 😍 They both fit perfectly. I'm going to get obsessed with this 😂

So, for the last couple days, I've been experimenting with design in a different manner, through VIDA, as you may have seen. However, as much as I like the company, I realized that I'm just not comfortable relating it to Doom Bug, since I have a different mission entirely through what I'm doing here. So, I created a new name for everything that I do with VIDA. Everything is brand new, so I'm still working on switching the product to the new store and setting up social media accounts, but if you'd like to support me and follow what will be going on over there, you can like the page and see everything as it unfolds. Here is one of the shirts I designed as well (through VIDA), and named after my sister who passed a year ago (on the 10th). It reminded me of her music-writing name "Firelyn", and the mirrored image reminded me of a butterfly, which I always have associated with her. Normal price for this one is $45, but it looks like they have a sale going on, to get it for $22.50. (High prices are only through VIDA, my prices for the product I make by hand will always be much cheaper!)

This is just an example of what I'm working on through VIDA. I don't expect anyone to really pay $145 for a scarf, but this is one I designed for them, and they take care of all of the business stuff that I don't have the time or motivation for. Plus, I only get 10% per sale for the use of my design (digital photo of an Oregon sunset I took). I'm cool with it though, because like I said, they take care of everything else. If you have any interest in fashion and design, I strongly recommend checking out the site and at least make a little side-cash from whatever you're already doing. I'm not big on "new" material use, but they do it all made-to-order, so there is never any waste. That part, I can totally get down with.

Our cashmere scarf, spun from fine Kashmir goat hair (more than twice as warm as standard sheep wool) and custom-printed with original artwork, is a staple in any closet.
