My first Fairy Lamp! I wasn’t sure if it actually was one, but I picked it up a couple weeks ago at Goodwill. I sent an offer of $93.75 and they accepted. Paid $4.32!

This has been my favorite way to sell stale items. No yard sale. No Plato’s closet rejection. No dead WhatNot shows.

This is new for me. Buyer made an “item not received” claim. I click on the tracking number and it tells me to call USPS.

I’ve never seen this before. (Also… my buyer can see the same thing I can on the tracking page, so why didn’t they do the same thing?)

Anyway, I decide to call - “Why not?” After speaking to a robot they sent me a text to enter my tracking number. 🤦🏼‍♀️ Why wasn’t that link just on the tracking page?

(I digress with the multiple whys I have in this situation.)

This is what the chat tells me - my item is unsalvageable! Excuse me? What the what happened? Then they ask if I want to file a claim. 😳 Yes, yes I do.

When you file a claim with the USPS they do not refund postage. The thing you paid to get your item there safely, yet they failed to follow up on their end of the deal. Ok. You can file a separate claim to get postage returned.

Within the claim they want “Proof of Damage”. YOU just told ME it’s “unsalvageable”. Don’t YOU have the proof? Hopefully a screenshot of the text works.

Let’s see if I can get both the item cost and the postage actually refunded to me.

Depop - it’s Sunday and the Post Office is closed, and my carrier doesn’t pick up. I’m not driving 30 minutes to the closest USPS with a kiosk. Be patient and program into your system that people can’t ship on Sundays! (My rural PO isn’t even open on Saturday!)

Today thru the end of the month is BUCKLE DOWN time! I’ve been traveling a lot, and pretty good about listing when I get home. But between some online shopping and two estate sales yesterday I have enough to keep myself busy for a few weeks. It’s time to sort, list, and clean! I’m always so happy when I reset everything. I’m also prepping for my first Niknax live sale! Most likely it will be sewing, or ephemera, or both! Happy Thursday!!!
