Hat tipped back, boots planted, leaning on that wall like she owns the joint — this is what nostalgia looks like when it’s dressed right. There’s something about a live act in a dive bar that a big arena show just can’t touch. The sweat on the walls, the fiddle player who’s had one too many, the whole crowd two-steppin’ off-beat and not caring one bit.

Sawdust covered the floor. The answer was in the two-step — boots sliding across it like they’d done it a thousand times.
They don’t make honky-tonks like Arkey Blues anymore. We don’t think they make boots like they used to, either.
Our late father’s favorite song was “Fraulein” — Bobby Helms, 1957. That’s where our name comes from. Not a translation. A tribute.
This week’s theme is honky-tonk. Now you know why it’s ours.
