This design may seem simple, but it has so much meaning. It represents both of Bruce’s Grandmothers that passed away before he was born. They both were compassionate, loving, beautiful examples of Godly women. Bruce’s maternal Grandmother always said “Expect a miracle” any time there was a struggle, she prayed and kept the faith. She raised her 4 children to have faith, lean not on their own understanding and believe that God’s will was always the best way because He sees the whole picture. Bruce’s paternal Grandmother was active in the Lutheran church and raised her 3 boys to know and love Jesus. Bruce is Wendish, on his paternal Grandfather’s side. His paternal Grandmother was very involved in celebrating the history of the Wendish, she would hand paint the decorations for the family’s booth at the Texas Folklife Festival, as well as lending her art to the Texas Wendish Heritage Society’s museum. Most of these beautiful paintings of hers had birds like the ones on our design. We cherish their memories and the beautiful impact they made on the world. 💙💛
Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life? -Matthew 6:26-27
