A little recap from a wonderful morning! ☕📚

Last week we had the opportunity to attend Pláticas y Café Entre Mujeres, hosted by the RGV Hispanic Chamber of Commerce.
It was an inspiring morning filled with meaningful conversations, new connections, and the chance to meet so many incredible women who are making a difference throughout the Rio Grande Valley.

We were honored to meet Cameron County Clerk Sylvia Garza and RGV Hispanic Chamber President & CEO Cynthia Sakulenzki. Thank you both for your warm welcome and for supporting opportunities that bring our community together. As owners of Twists & Tales, we believe a bookstore is more than shelves filled with books, it’s about building relationships, supporting fellow small businesses, and staying connected with the community we proudly serve.
Thank you to everyone we met. We left feeling inspired, encouraged, and excited for what’s ahead.

One of our favorite surprises from Harlingen Market Days this past Saturday… 🪨 💛

In the middle of one of the hottest market days we’ve had we had the pleasure of meeting the wonderful people from Harlingen Rocks (HGN Rocks)
We had such a fun conversation and shared lots of smiles and before they left, they surprised us with this beautiful painted rock. 🥹
If you’re not familiar with them they’re a local group spreading kindness one rock at a time. They hide hand painted rocks throughout the community for others to discover, enjoy, photograph, and then re-hide for someone else to find. Such a simple idea but one that brings so much joy! Thank you for stopping by our booth and for reminding us that sometimes the smallest acts of kindness can make the biggest difference…. Stories have a way of traveling from reader to reader… and apparently kindness travels one painted rock at a time. 💛

Our special little rock has already found a happy home at Twists & Tales… but who knows? Maybe one day it’ll be ready for its next adventure. 😉
