this is what I wish someone told me on day one 👇🏻
when i was pregnant with my first baby, i thought motherhood would simply be an addition to who i already was. that i’d still be me…just with a baby. while becoming a mom has been the greatest gift of my life, somewhere between diapers, nap schedules, school drop-offs, and caring for everyone else, i slowly stopped doing things that were just for me.
i kept telling myself I’d get back to hobbies, creativity, and the things I loved when life slowed down but life never really slows down.
what changed everything for me was finding embroidery. it gave me 20 minute pockets that belonged to me. it reminded me that I was still a person outside of being “mom.” the more I nurtured that creative side of myself, the better mom I felt like I became.
if i could go back and tell my pregnant self one thing, it would be this: don’t wait years to reconnect with yourself. make space for the things that make you feel like you.
if you’re a mom who’s spent so much time taking care of everyone else that you’ve forgotten what it feels like to create something just for you, inside From Hoop to Home i show you how to reconnect with your creative side in simple 20-minute pockets while making meaningful decor your family will treasure for years. comment HOME and i’ll send it over 💖
