My cat has cancer
He is going to die
I’ve known this since February when he was first diagnosed
So I opted for an aggressive radiation strategy
Cost was $18,226
This week he went in for a 6months follow up CT scan
Cost was $3,138
Scans showed an 80-90% tumor reduction
I should be happy
He gets a few more months
But I know he is still going to die
Nasal tumors are a terminal diagnosis
And all I’ve bought is more time before the inevitable
Though in the end, weren’t they always going to die anyways?
He is only 6 years old
He already beat FIP through black market drugs
He was only 1 then
Now all I can do is actively mourn the death of my very much alive cat that sleeps on top of me each night
Knowing one night will be its last
What is the cost of more time?
Apparently for me, it’s $21,364 and counting
