This is my page to show my custom sewing, and other interesting textile projects I work on. My fleec
A new jacket for a private client. Beautiful, heavy weight silk satin, lined in a lighter weight silk. Welt pockets, bound buttonholes. I’ve made this little jacket probably a dozen times now, in everything from heavy Valentino cashmere, to funky animal prints in faux leather, and now this gorgeous fabric. It looks great with a lot of different colors, too.
A small but much necessary project for our living room. New cushions for two (unmatched) chairs. The taller chair is from IKEA from about six years ago - one of two we bought to make our previous living room look a little better when selling that house. The Danish modern chair is from my parents house in Belmont, but I’ve had it for 15-20 years. So much better now...
Beautiful diamonds from my good friends at Eidos jewelry
Creamy Princess diamond set in recycled grey gold 18 Karat with some side whites for company...
Cute little bunnies for Easter from my good friend Michelle Tapia...
From my “memories”, but somehow Facebook wouldn’t let me share this on my business page...anyway...from September 2016, I made these for a local decorator, for a show house here in Santa Fe. Linen slip covers for a pair of beautiful antique chairs. Definitely the most expensive pair of chairs (this is just one), I’ve ever worked on.
Fun way to add a little “flair” to your t-shirt...btw - I sew on a Bernina 950 Industrial.
Learn how to upcycle that well-loved shirt of yours. Click "Learn More" and follow this tutorial on how to add lace to it.
Available on line at MadeInNewMexico.com, and at Earth Spirit in the Albuquerque, Denver, and Phoenix airports. Made right here in Santa Fe, NM.
Our state Human Services Secretary, Dr. Scrase is wearing a mask I made. The fabric was given to me from my friend Brooke. Wear your masks, friends. Be safe and healthy.
Fun kids prints. I finally broke down and bought a few more fabrics. The beetles are from Santa Fe Quilting. They always have such beautiful prints.
Allegra Printing here in Santa Fe ROCKs! They made these little (2” square), hang tags for me in just a couple days! The Santa Fe Sewing Studio is officially making masks for other small businesses, and soon will have some fun Southwestern print ones at Made in New Mexico, in Taos, and for their online store.
“New” prints for Spring 2020 - in everyone’s new favorite accessory - washable cotton masks. Please message me if you need a couple, or know someone who does. Kinda funny how long I’ve had some of these - I have to admit, I’m still a fabric addict, but this is helping.
Cushion and pillows I made for the original SSB six years ago. I have plenty of time right now if you have similar projects you’d like help with...
Not a great picture, but you get the idea. Two layers of lace, with a small amount of silk at the top. I used elastic for the wrist, as my client has trouble with closings (little buttons, snaps, etc.), after a stroke a couple years ago. These would look great with just about anything- even your bathrobe!
My project for this week - gorgeous silk fabric from Chanel. The sleeves with their beautiful ruffle on the cuff are what really make this spectacular. Sheer with a lot of body, a moire type weave with printing on top. All French seams, self covered buttons.
Yes, so true. Use your paper scissors instead...
The fourth cotton seersucker piece for a private client. I’ve made this blouse for her probably 20 times since I first made it in 2003 - originally inspired by an Alexander McQueen laser cut silk top, from the same year.

I love how this linen company connects art to fabric. Agnes Martin being one of my favorites...of course.
“My paintings are not about what is seen. They are about what is known forever in the mind.” Agnes Martin’s world is one of order and tranquillity, as minutely patterned grids and ruler straight bands expand across vast surfaces suggesting wide open space. Yet there is also sensitive musicalit...
A little TBT Santa Fe Sewing Studio style - I made so many of these “Sailor Pants”, for one client about 12-15 years ago. She recently, reluctantly agreed that wearing big platform shoes is no longer an option, therefore I shortened all of these. She takes such good care of her clothes they hardly look worn.
Cotton seersucker in a new, unique way. This is the same jacket pattern I’ve used many times for this client, with the “smaller” collar! I “railroaded “ the fabric in several places - the lines are actually horizontal on the yardage. I’m really happy with how the welt pockets turned out, too. She’s planning on wearing this to the SF Opera this summer.
Some TBT fun from my college days...in the fall of 1986 at FIT I took 21 credits, which took up all of my time (no part time job that semester), but my artwork greatly improved. I came across these the other day - maybe I’ll frame a couple for my studio.
And my alma mater is named one of the best fashion schools in the world! FIT class of 1987 Fashion Design!

Linen inspired by paintings of Georgia O'Keeffe. I've started ordering some linen from this company - very nice quality, and they encourage you to wash it.
There is a light, airy delicacy to DAWN linen, suggesting spring blossom or translucent rose petals blushing pink in the sunlight. It was a colour American artist Georgia O’Keeffe returned to over and over, capturing the pastel toned vibrancy of fresh, new flowers and the dry, parched earth of Ame...

I love summer dresses and have eight designs currently available from Vogue Patterns right now. If you’ve never made your own summer dress before, my designs available from Vogue Patterns are a great place to start.

Well, this is interesting to the fashion industry. I’m happy to see more h**p in mainstream fabrics. Hopefully, it will become more widely available to everyone.
H**p just became legal to grow in the United States for the first time in nearly a century. Levi’s is helping the superplant regain its reputation by blending it into its iconic denim. H**p is one of the most powerful plants in the world, producing twice as much fiber as cotton, …
