Cindy McCarley is a certified kitchen and bath designer and National Kitchen and Bath Association (NKBA) member. She has been
working in various realms of the design world for over 25 years. She started her business in Texas working as an artist doing faux finishes
and custom painting. Her work was featured in prestigious homes and stores, as well as numerous Parade of Homes tours. As her reputa

tion grew, her projects were highlighted in multiple publications in the Austin/San Antonio/Texas Hill Country areas. Many of her clients sought her interior design advice, which lead her not only to residential design, but commercial as well. In 1990, Cindy began a relationship with the SAS shoe company, which would span more than twenty years. Originally, she painted all signage for the company's stores (150+). Concurrently, she also stenciled on site in each store throughout the United States, Mexico and Canada. Working with her
sister, an interior designer, they developed a new design concept for all of the SAS stores. Their work included procuring all furniture, rugs,
window treatments, lighting, antiques, etc. as well as space planning and installation. Cindy earned her kitchen and bath certification by returning to school and subsequently worked as a kitchen/bath designer in St. Louis, where she moved with her family in 2001. With an eye on eventually moving full time to Florida, where the McCarley’s own a second home, Cindy started working as a designer in Grayton Beach, Florida in 2013. She now divides her time between St. Louis and Florida, with
an occasional project back home in Texas. No matter your scope of work, Cindy is happy to work with you. She strives to create beautiful, livable spaces. Her relationships with her clients are important to her. “I like happy, satisfied clients,” she says. Cindy goes the extra mile for her clients and when the project is completed, she hopes to have gained a friend. (Yes, let’s meet for a glass of wine!)

With sweeping ocean views from its third-floor perch, our goal was to create a quiet sense of calm in the primary suite. We kept the bedroom intentionally minimal, allowing the emerald waters to remain the true focal point. In the bathroom, the breathtaking quartzite provides the room’s one dramatic “wow” moment.

Just home from a much-needed vacation! We began in Barcelona and ended in Rome, amazed by everything we saw and learned along the way—the magnificent churches, incredible art, beautiful vineyards, Monte Carlo, the view from the top of the Leaning Tower of Pisa, the Vatican and, of course, the FOOD! Oh, how I loved all the charming sidewalk cafés. We walked a lot and sweated even more, but every single step was worth it!

I loved helping my sister update the design of her 25-year-old kitchen! We stayed within the original footprint but created so much more storage by taking the cabinetry to the ceiling and adding a larger, updated island with a warming drawer and plenty of functional storage.

We also replaced the gas cooktop with induction and added a beautiful custom hood that mimics her custom pantry door. One of my favorite details is the clever drawers within drawers!

Take a look at these before-and-after photos. The transformation is incredible!

Back in Florida after five very full days of Cousin Camp in Texas! 🤍 We had the best time, despite one unexpected trip to Urgent Care for severe dehydration.

I’m so grateful for this special time with my sisters, some of their grandchildren, my daughter, and her kiddos. These are the moments I treasure most, and I’m thankful for every memory we made together. Until next year, Cousin Camp! ☀️💕

It’s time to say goodbye to Kalli as she heads to Texas for a new job and the opportunity to be closer to friends. Since I’m from Texas, I can’t fault her for that!🤠🤍 I will certainly miss her help and support.

At the same time, I’m hoping her departure will provide the push I need to finally do something I’ve been talking about for quite a while—taking on fewer clients and slowing down a bit.
