As I reflected on 2022 and tried to identify my "wins," this much needed message appeared on my timeline. Life lifed in every way possible during the second half of the year and I didn't accomplish everything that I wanted. Despite everything that happened and what is yet to come, I'm still here. Happy 2023 and cheers to us all!

Although we are only six days in, this month has already had it's fair share of highs and lows. Through it all, I've tried to find the lesson in each experience and keep pushing. Do I allow myself to sit in my feelings for a while? SURE! I give myself permission to feel ALL the feels without judgment, dust myself off, and press forward with the determination to grow through it. As this week presents its own set of challenges, I am already reminding myself that I have everything that I need to overcome what's on the horizon and you do too! It has truly been a blessing to have an opportunity to watch the "littles" grow and live their best, joy-filled, carefree lives while knowing that they are loved by their village. The walls of my craft space, guest bathroom, and office at my 8-5 job are filled with motivational art. My collection began as a result of working for someone who was the epitome of "hurt people hurt people." Each week, I found myself adding a new canvas to my office walls to help me remember that my purpose for being there had absolutely nothing to do with the person hired to lead the organization. The rooms in my home are decorated in the same manner because I want everyone who enters those spaces to feel encouraged and confident whether they are preparing to begin their day, need a moment to slip away to re-center themselves, or end the day at peace. The hair photos are an entirely different story. 😆

Since launching my business last year, I've grappled with finding a way to share my authentic self on a platform that often seems to promote the opposite. I value extra sleep over a full face of makeup, don't use filters, and lack the energy required to stage a video in the name of going viral. Keeping with the spirit of "What's the best that can happen," I'm going to try Mondays with Mika where you'll get me as I am. Because I am enough.
