Sometimes the sun doesn't quit — and neither do you.

For those long, sun-soaked days on the water, you need more than sunscreen and good intentions. This Performance Hoodie Sun Shirt has you covered with UPF 30 protection, moisture-wicking fabric, and odor-fighting technology.

Designed by Macey Rewis for our Salted Souls Gallery x Tybee Island Marine Science Center Collection, it's as thoughtful as it is functional — snag-proof, chlorine-resistant, and color-fast, so it keeps up whether you're locked on the bite offshore or just living your best coastal life.

Because good days on the water deserve gear that goes the distance. 🌊☀️

This Friday in Savannah — don't miss it. 🎨

Our partners at ARTS Southeast are hosting their June First Friday Festivities on June 5 from 5–9PM, and this one is packed with good things.

A closing reception for King of Squares by Preston Orr, an opening for Figure/Ground (a group show of local + regional artists), the Project Finale for May Artist-in-Residence Hannah Keats, Open Studios including incubator artist Alex Mendi, and more.

Oh, and refreshments in the lobby. Obviously. 🥂This is exactly the kind of night that makes Savannah's art scene so special — and exactly the kind of work we're proud to support. See you there. 🖤

Meet your new favorite carry-all. 🦐

We teamed up with artist Kaylee Hettenbaugh and Gray's Reef National Marine Sanctuary to bring you a bag that's as fierce as the creature on the front.

Every purchase supports marine education and the new Discovery Center — so you're basically a conservation hero who also has great taste in bags.💚

Where in the world is the Loop It Up Savannah tote bag?! 👀🌿

Spotted: somewhere in the mountains of Western North Carolina — and we're not telling you exactly where. 👜✨

Drop your best guess in the comments! 👇

Loop It Up Savannah is one of our favorite local nonprofits — bringing arts-integrated learning and youth enrichment programs to 10,000+ young people across the Lowcountry every year. (They also make a pretty great tote bag, clearly.)

Go check them out at loopitupsavannah.com and show them some love. 🧡

This Saturday, we are thrilled to share that our own Debora Oden — artist, teacher, and beloved voice in Savannah's creative community — will be featured in an ARTS Southeast panel discussion celebrating the work and legacy of Preston Orr.

The Ellis Gallery: Preston Orr — King of Squares Panel Discussion
📅 Saturday, May 23 · 2:00–4:00 PM
📍 ARTS Southeast, 2301 Bull Street, Savannah, GA

Preston Orr was a fearless, revered figure in Savannah's art world, and this conversation promises to be a beautiful tribute to his life and work.

We are genuinely honored to have Deb as part of the Low Country Grit family. Her collection with us — wearable art rooted in the bold, expressive energy she brings to everything she creates — supports her work directly and benefits ARTS Southeast and their mission of keeping Savannah's creative community alive and thriving.

Come out Saturday for a fascinating time.

Thursday night in Savannah is going to be a good one. 🎉

ARTS Southeast is celebrating the release of IMPACT Magazine Vol. 5 No. 1 — centered on Ossabaw Island and the artists, writers, and stewards keeping its story alive.

The release party is at Laney Contemporary, May 21st, 6–8PM, and proceeds support the brand new Ossabaw Island Residency launching this fall.

This is exactly the kind of work that fuels everything we do at Low Country Grit. See you there! 🖤

Learn more & RSVP here: https://artssoutheast.org/impact-releaseparty

Join ARTS Southeast and IMPACT Arts + Culture Magazine at Laney Contemporary for a special evening celebrating the release of IMPACT Vol. 5 No. 1, our Ossabaw-centered issue exploring land, memory, ecology, artistic inheritance, and the cultural history of Georgia’s barrier islands.

V5N1 features four collectible covers by:

Allison Janae Hamilton, “Venus of Ossabaw”
Le’Andra LeSeur, “Monument Eternal”
Mimi Plumb, “Girl in a Mirror”
John Earl, “Sunrise on Ossabaw”

The issue includes contributions and conversations with artists, writers, and curators including Beryl Gilothwest, Melissa Messina, Erin Dunn, Allison Janae Hamilton, Mimi Plumb, Gregory J. Harris, Le’Andra LeSeur, Trelani Michelle, Lisa Jaye Young, Josh Aronson, Rachel Waldrop, and others.

The evening will also serve as a fundraiser for the Ossabaw Island Residency, a new ARTS Southeast program launching this October. Rooted in the legacy of the historic Ossabaw Island Project, the residency will bring artists to Ossabaw for a week of retreat, research, reflection, and place-based creative exploration.

Celebrate with hors d’oeuvres by Sixby, drinks by Savoy Society, and music by Ryan Madson

In addition to the Ossabaw-centered issue of IMPACT, there are plenty of opportunities to support the launch of the Ossabaw Island Residency including a silent auction, with proceeds supporting the program.

On display at Laney Contemporary: “Jack Leigh & Parker Stewart: In Place,” a photography exhibition pairing two artists whose work is deeply connected to Savannah, the Georgia coast, and Ossabaw. On view thru Aug 1

RSVP requested. Donations encouraged. Links in bio!

Proceeds and contributions from the evening will support artist residents’ travel, lodging, meals, transportation, and logistical costs required to bring artists to Ossabaw Island for the inaugural OIAR session.

*Please note parking is limited, rideshare and carpooling is encouraged.

Something special just landed at the Tybee Island Marine Science Center. 🌊

Salted Souls Gallery's Macey Rewis designed a brand new collection exclusively for TIMSC — and it's only available in the gift shop. We're talking a new Westie youth long sleeve performance shirt, a new adult tee with incredible octopus design, and a restock of the fan-favorite Inshore Slam hooded performance long sleeve that cannot be beat for a summer on the water.

Every piece was made for people who love the coast — and every purchase goes directly to support TIMSC and the work they do right here on Tybee.

If you're headed to the island this weekend, stop in. These won't last long.

Our artist Kendrick Antrell Mast is showing up this Sunday — and we couldn't be more proud. 🖤

Kendrick is one of the featured artists at Comic Currents this weekend, a free comic convention at the Ships of the Sea Maritime Museum in Savannah organized by Neighborhood Comics. If you're in town May 17, go find him — and tell him Low Country Grit sent you.

Kendrick's work is unlike anything else in our collection. A SCAD grad and Air Force veteran, he creates dark fantasy illustration rooted in mythology, medieval history, and original storytelling with awe-inspiring results.

We are so proud to carry his collection here at Low Country Grit — wearable art that supports Kendrick directly and benefits ARTS Southeast and everything they do for Savannah's creative community.

Come find him Sunday. Then shop the collection and bring a piece of his world home with you.

📅 Comic Currents — Sunday, May 17 · 1–5 PM
📍 Ships of the Sea Maritime Museum, 41 MLK Jr. Blvd, Savannah
🎟️ Free admission
