Just a little knitting at the park the other day and my partner was the best photographer 3

The weather is changing here in Seattle, which makes me the absolute happiest person. I love the fall, I love the winter here, and I love not sweating my ass off any time I step outside.

I am working on the Never Sweater here, with my neon uv reactive yarn from Quarter Cakes Yarn, and I wish I could knit faster simply because I want to wear it, but the slow process and progression is actually satisfying, even if I want to finish this skein asap so I can see what the next one looks like!

Did I mention every single skein is different, and I am not rotating them lol. This is gonna be such a fun experiment!

I’m knitting a sweater and wanted to talk about it 🫣

The pattern is The Never Sweater by Kali’s Threads and if the first 2-3 inches is any indication of how amazing this is going to be, well, I’m actually going to die and come back and rock this sweater again. I might add pockets though, we will see if I get there, not that it needs pockets, but I’m in a pocket mood so we will check the gumption at the door for sure.

The yarn is Quartercakes dot com, inn sparkleverse dk, which is also uv reactive and sooo sparkly irl.

Originally I was knitting a skirt with it, but this sweater screamed at me and here we are.

My favorite part is every skein is different, I bought them in bunches and the dye lots are all mixed together and it’s going to tell the prettiest story of their individual design and I think that’s such a cool part of making my own clothing. Nothing is perfect, and that’s the beauty of making things with your own two hands out of something that someone else made with their own two hands and that just keeps going backwards to the sheep itself. Anywho, that’s enough philosophy shenanigans for tonight 😂😅

The stitch markers and the knit/increase round markers are coming in clutch with this sweater too. I’m obsessed with 100% of what Twice Sheared Sheep | Knit and Crochet Notions comes out with, and these are no different.

I have about 15 more knit/increase repeat rounds left and without this marker I am sure this sweater would already have too many sleeve stitches and a body like a toddler. I’m just saying (if you want the direct link let me know and I’ll dm you)

Oh! I ordered wooden swords, daggers, and axes for my next market on October 3 in Bellevue, so keep an eye out for those videos soon!!!

(I had to don’t come for me)

Hi pals! I did something...

I started a new website. Well, originally I just created a new space for my shop, which quickly turned into a space for my shop and commissions and booking me for events and a blog and well, sambartleydesigns.com is now live

Hi pals! Today we are talking about being a craft vendor and my market set up(s). I recently got back into doing markets as an artist, and with a few under my belt I figured why not share what I've learned so far! I was on Pinterest looking up "vendor layouts" and "craft vendor set-up

Does you cat (or dog, or pet, or child?) do this?

I know she just wants pets, and I just pet her, but this little old lady doesn’t have many working brain cells left, and she’s kind of obsessed with me, so I’ll pet her every 20 seconds if I am called upon 😂

I’m also obsessed with this cat, and she knows it 😂

I think I’m just a nerd but also this might help someone who also wants to throw their yarn winder off the balcony.

Magnets. They work! 😂

I just grabbed two of my little magnets I use for needle minders and I took off the yarn holder, snapped a magnet into the tube, thread the yarn and attached the other magnet (while the tube was “upside down” so the magnets connect before flipping it back right side up) and then get to winding!

I think I might need a bigger magnet for super mega bulky, but bulky and super worked just fine with what I had on hand 🥰

My friend Size Inclusive Collective by Autumn Eden-Goodman send me a few of her Forma hoops, a guide, and a thread holder!

I will be totally honest, I’m not the best at embroidery or cross stitching, but I am so thankful she saw me and asked me to test 🫶🏻

Anywho, go check out her shop, order a few of your own, and get to stitching!!

Also how cute is the kitty hoop?! I’m swooning hard 🥰
