Out of the Blox T-Shirt Quilts From T-Shirt to Treasure Out of the Blox T-Shirt quilts are unique custom blankets designed based upon your t-shirt graphics and not upon a 12" square.

We offer several t-shirt quilt packages and are willing to entertain special requests. Ellie, an art teacher, will be laying out the template of your new blanket with an eye for color and design. Cathy, an experienced quilter and seamstress, will be constructing the blanket.

For the second year in a row, we had the pleasure of creating a silhouette t-shirt quilt for a local parish benefit auction. This quilt features t-shirts from a now-closed school district, so it is really special for graduates of that school. It is lap-sized with a soft minky backing, so it will be great for cuddling under on a cool day!

I used a new pattern for this memory bear. Meet Ben the Bear from Funky Friend Factory! Just another option.

This bear was constructed with a t-shirt and a pair of jeans. The t-shirt had a large graphic that the client wanted incorporated. In order to do this, I had to cut the graphic apart and applique it on the tummy and the arms, but this enabled me to save the parts of the graphic that were meaningful to the client.

The bear also has an embroidered foot pad and a special message on its back.

How about getting not 1 but 2 t-shirt quilts in your Easter basket?! That's exactly what the 2 daughters of this client ...

How about getting not 1 but 2 t-shirt quilts in your Easter basket?! That's exactly what the 2 daughters of this client received for Easter this year. Each daughter got a quilt featuring their activities related to their faith and a second quilt featuring graphics from all their other activities. What a great gift!

Having spent my whole life living in or near small towns, I totally understand small town pride and those special events that bring everyone "home" for the weekend! This t-shirt quilt highlights one small town's annual celebration of everything that makes their town special. One fun idea is that all of the t-shirts featured the town's telephone prefix on the back of each year's shirt. We incorporated as many of these as we could.

Now that Santa has come, and the gifts have been open, we can share some of the projects that we helped the elves with!

First, we made lap quilts for a family of softball/baseball loving children--4 daughters and 1 son to be exact. The quilts feature shirts from childhood to teen teams, a soft minky backing and a quilting design of a baseball. They will be perfect for using as upcoming games!

Fifty years ago, a girl left her earthly home at a very young age. One of her possessions that was then cherished by her family was a Raggedy Ann and Andy sleeping bag. Fast forward to today, a family member brought us the sleeping bag: Can you make 3 lap blankets from this? We accepted the challenge and really enjoyed the process. Essentially, we disassembled the sleeping bag, cut out the figures of Ann and Andy, and used applique to piece them in a lap quilt. We also used "vintage" looking fabrics as we pieced together our final products. We ended by making a scrappy binding to repeat the "vintage" fabrics. We couldn't be more pleased with the final quilts!
