I have been near a sewing machine my whole life. My "Oma" made draperies and both of my aunts also spent a lot of time in their sewing rooms working on quilts, Barbie clothes, clothing and ornaments. My mom sewed clothing since high school and as a child I donned many matching outfits created for me and my sisters. I first started sewing when I was about 12. Since then I've always had a sewing mac

hine nearby. I love giving and receiving handmade gifts. I've found that fabric is such a fun colorful medium to work with. I feel a connection to the women in my family by creating fun, colorful, useful items.

A big THANK YOU to everyone that braved the chilly, whipping NW wind yesterday. Your support is so appreciated!! It definitely was a lesson for those who didn’t weight their tents properly! I held up fine but had to improvise at the end. The back wall of my tent was both a wind break and a giant sail and it had to be taken down. By 2 pm everyone but a handful of vendors had packed up. I was the 2nd to last one to leave. All in all it was a successful day. See you in June in Fond du Lac and Manitowoc!

My cyanotype fabric experiment has finally found a home on this small . I dyed the fabric, and created the cyanotype image with marigolds and alyssum from my yard. I paired it with this beautiful canvas that I waxed with beeswax and paraffin and more of the quilting cotton that I dyed for the lining. Inspired by my niece living in Minneapolis. This past September she showed me how that process worked with a kit I bought her for Christmas. We spent an entire day exploring that beautiful city by bike and I’ve been reliving that weekend for the past week. ❤️

At the last few vendor events there have been some guys looking at bags for themselves. So I’m going to add some guy friendly bags to my inventory in 2026. If it saves just one woman from ever having to hear “can you put this in your purse” again, I’ll call that success! Let’s normalize men carrying their own bags. Women, don’t be the pack horse.

This is my last sew of the year. It’s also inspired by our weather here the past 2 weeks. It’s been overly snowy and there have been quite a few frosty mornings and everything is covered in thick frost. And I 💙 it!!! I really do. It’s gonna be subzero temps tomorrow in Sheboygan. Bundle up!!
