Our next Sister Spotlight features Heidi Oldenkamp! Heidi graduated from Oregon State in 2017 with a degree in Bioengineering. Post graduation, Heidi moved to Austin, Texas to pursue her PhD in Chemical Enigneering at the Universtiy of Texas at Austin, focusing on drug delivery research. She graduated with her PhD in 2022.

Heidi then moved to Irvine, California for a job in pharmaceutical product development at AbbVie. She is currently working on developing sterile liquid product formulations specifically for eye drops.

This past weekend was very exciting for our Alum Association! Several sisters attended National Convention in Chicago where two sisters were honored for their contributions. Emma Olds and Brittany Downing received the Chapter Advisor Award for their work supporting the Sigma Chapter. In addition, the Sigma Chapter (Phi Sigma Rho - Oregon State) received the Rising to Excellence Award (Orchid Level).

Besides these two awards, two alum are also now serving on the National Phi Sigma Rho Boards. Tina Schnell is serving as VP of Alum Engagement and Carley King serving as Secretary for the Foundation.

We are so proud of our sisters both Active and Alum! Congratulations to all our award recipients and those serving on the national level. Way to represent the Sigma Chapter!

Our next Sister Spotlight features Jorie Cheng-Leever! Jorie graduated from Oregon State in 2020. Directly following her undergraduate degree, Jorie enrolled at the University of Washington and completed her Masters in Civil Engineering with a focus in Environmental Engineering. Jorie now works for the US Army Corps of Engineers as a Hydraulic and River Engineer in Portland.

Jorie also recently passed her Civil PE Exam and is working on ascertaining her required experience before she can become licensed. Jorie lives with fellow Phi Rho sister, Amanda Crawford.

Our next new alumni spotlight features Nicole Hebda. Nicole graduated with a degree in Architectural Engineering and will be working for structural engineering firm IMEG Corp. in Portland.

Nicole most loved all the people she met while at Oregon State and being able to explore and do things with these people while in Corvallis.

This summer, Nicole is looking forward to getting outside for some hiking and paddle boarding.

To kick off our 2023 graduates, we start with Ellie Khoury. Ellie graduated with her BS in Bioengineering with a minor in Computer Science. This summer, she will be getting married and then starting a job as a Bioengineer and Health Analyst in Irvine, California.

Ellie most loved the friends that she made while at Oregon State and living in an environment where she could grow.

Ellie, congratulations on all these life changes and we wish you the best of luck as you explore a new state!
