What is your favorite memory of a grandparent?
Mine is sitting on the porch with my Nanny.
Whether we were shucking corn or telling stories, she would welcome you to have a seat. Nine times out of ten, you were greated with a slice of pound cake and a cup of coffee. I often think of her when I sit on my porch now. How I would have love to sit with her just one more time. She would be proud of who I am today.
Life has seasons, some are harder than others. Losing a loved one has to be the hardest of all.
This is why I make memory quilts. You make look at this video and say it's just a quilt. To the one that holds it, it is more than that. It is a loved ones belongings, memories of times shared, and a hope for one day when you will meet again.
