Wearable Art by GG

Wearable Art by GG A unique creative exploration of eco-art I am formally trained in life painting and art history. Then came the “Ah ha”! No two pieces are the same.

I began working in oils, gravitating to acrylics in the 70s and 80s, then to watercolors where I worked on a 10 year series “Nature and Grace” which was on exhibit at various Los Angeles galleries during the 1990s. After a three year hiatus from artwork, I spent the next 5 years working in interior design, predominantly with “shabby chic” and antique furniture pieces. My most recent pieces of “Wea

rable Art” are inspired by my mother’s button box, where thousands of vintage buttons and bangles sat dormant. moment that resounds with all artists – thinking outside the box and finding new ways to highlight the old.

“Wearable Art” is a study in eco-design, recycling dormant pieces into today’s art. My first public showing was February 2012 and opened with great acclaim. I am inspired by great fashion designers as well as the beauty and shapes found in nature. All are for sale and custom orders for gifts or special occasions are available. Contact me through Face Book for more information.https://www.facebook.com/gretchen.glick Now only accepting large commissions. In 2012 I have had my jewelry exhibited in 5 exhibitions and won 3 awards. I have integrated buttons, beads, pearls, charms, wood chips, millagros, lace and felt. Some of my materials are vintage that have been given to me, or found at yard sales and thrift stores.
