Fun Fact Friday: Some of the most expensive boots ever made are still sitting on the moon. 🌕

Apollo astronauts wore lunar overshoes made with specialized materials, including a stainless-steel woven fabric designed to withstand the brutal conditions of the lunar surface. We’re talking material worth tens of thousands of dollars per yard.

And here’s the kicker: several pairs were left behind on the moon to save weight on the return trip.

Bison leather has a complex fiber matrix that is looser than a dense cowhide, which makes it feel more effortless and soft. However, the individual collagen fibers are thicker, which gives bison hide an incredible tear resistance and tensile strength.

Banned from bars. Built for the backwoods.

Caulk boots helped loggers keep their footing on wet, slick timber. Their aggressive metal spikes were so effective they weren’t exactly welcome on indoor floors.
