Dakota is someone that Bigger Together had the privilege of helping after the hurricanes. He’s a dedicated advocate in the local LGBTQIA+ community, working closely with at-risk and runaway youth. Sadly, Dakota and his brother Mark Petrancosta’s home was completely flooded during the storm, and Dakota has faced ongoing health challenges ever since.

He is now in the hospital battling severe pneumonia, which has led to partial heart and kidney failure. He’s currently on a ventilator and undergoing dialysis as doctors work toward his recovery.

Dakota and Mark could use all the support they can get right now. If you're able to donate or share, it would mean the world to this incredible family. Every bit helps. 💙

📢 Program & Availability Update from Bigger Together

Hi everyone! Just a quick note to let you know that our organization is currently on a temporary break, and messages are not being checked regularly at this time. We appreciate your patience and understanding.

Our basket program is currently discontinued due to limited resources. If another major storm hits and the need arises, we may be able to temporarily revive it—but for now, it’s paused.

We are currently only doing pop-up events, and we’ll post here as soon as we have a date for the next one.

We’ll also update this page when we are ready to accept donations again.

Volunteers Needed for Clothing Donation Collection in Tampa Bay!

We are looking for dedicated volunteers to serve as collection points throughout the Tampa Bay area for our next event (Date TBD!) Volunteers will play a vital role in helping us collect donations for our next pop-up.

Once several donations have been collected, volunteers will meet with our director, Amelia, to hand off the items for sorting and preparation for the event.

What we need from our volunteers:
-Availability to receive donations or meet local donors.
-Ability to coordinate donation drop-offs.

Let’s keep the vibes positive and uplifting! No negative self-talk.

-SHOP QUICK
Please try to limit your shopping time to 20 minutes or less.

-NO TRY-ONS
Please grab items quickly. Unfortunately, there is no time to try on clothes or shoes.

-ONE BAG EACH
Fill your designated bag. It doesn’t have to close, but you do need to be able to carry it!

-KEEP IT NEAT
Please help us keep the tables and racks tidy so everyone can enjoy a clean and organized space.

-HAVE FUN!
Let’s celebrate each other, have fun, and enjoy this time together with your fellow plus-size community. Share a laugh, make new friends, and support one another!
