This is beautiful in multiple ways!

In Andalucía, summer temperatures can rise above 40°C (104°F), which is very dangerous for older people and those vulnerable to extreme heat.

To help, 300 local women came together and spent three years crocheting a huge shade canopy. It’s 60 meters long and covers 500 square meters, all made from yarn.

This canopy is not only a beautiful alternative to plastic, but it has also brought more visitors to the town, turning a local craft into a tourist attraction.

The project also brought the community closer, with women of all ages working together on something special. Other towns have started making their own versions too!
