Omg, I remember this. Machine sewing METAL onto the napkin dresses. Then the day before we open, hand sewing kick pleats to all six of them. Brother Sewing Machine used this photo for a promotional run. (Did I get credit? Probs not.)

Costumer: So excited to costume this show. In which era does it take place?
Creator: Current day.
Costumer: Okay, so we're looking at modern day, 21st century fashion then?
Creator: No.
Costumer: Which era do you want portrayed?
Creator: ALL of them.

A reminder that costuming is an intimate experience based on trust and a shared vision. Not only will I be one of the few people in this world to ask you to take off your clothes, but I am also one of the few people who will understand your color pallette and never put you in something ghastly or unbecoming. Costuming is an art form, yes, but it's also an expression of love.
