🧱 Many of the next generation workforce still face pressure from parents, teachers, and peers who were taught that success only comes with a four-year degree.

But the world has changed.

College is still a great path for some.
The trades are a great path for others.
Entrepreneurship is a great path too.

There is no longer one “right” road to success.

The future belongs to people who can learn, adapt, pivot, and solve real problems. It belongs to skilled hands, curious minds, and those willing to keep growing.

And this next generation is starting to figure that out.

Maybe our job as older generations isn’t to keep pushing them toward the paths that worked for us.

Maybe it’s to get out of the way, listen, and help build bridges to the opportunities that make sense for them.

The OLD game said, “Follow the script.”

The NEW game says, “Find your fit.”

Our first-ever Summer Connection Bash exceeded every expectation, bringing together nearly 75 people from different industries, backgrounds, and generations to connect, network, and build real relationships in a way that felt different from your typical networking event.

We’re doing it again.

🧱 At NO ALUMNI, a key part of our mission has always been helping people discover that there are countless paths to a meaningful and fulfilling life after high school.

For years now, we’ve championed the trades, entrepreneurship, apprenticeships, and hands-on careers because we believe success isn’t one-size-fits-all.

However, helping people find opportunities is only part of the equation.

That’s why becoming Certified Facilitators of The Six Types of Working Genius has been such an important step for us.

The Six Types of Working Genius helps individuals answer some incredibly important questions:

* What work gives me energy?
* What am I naturally gifted at?
* What role do I play best on a team?
* Why do certain tasks drain me while others light me up?

It identifies your Geniuses, your Competencies, and your Frustrations - giving you language for how you’re uniquely wired and helping you understand the kind of work that brings fulfillment and joy… which ultimately leads to being more productive.

But this doesn’t stop with individuals.

We’re increasingly finding ourselves working with businesses because the next generation of workers doesn’t just need opportunities, they need organizations where they can thrive.

Many companies are still operating with systems and cultures built 20, 30, or even 40+ years ago. The workforce has changed. Expectations have changed. Leadership must change too.

“The Toolbox” 🧰

🔨 The hammer looked at the screwdriver and said, “You can’t drive a nail.”

🪛 The screwdriver looked at the wrench and said, “You’ll never turn a screw.”

🔧 The wrench laughed at the tape measure and said, “You don’t build anything at all.”

The old craftsman heard the noise, reached into the tool box, and said nothing.

He just got to work.

Because a house doesn’t get built by the “best” tool.

It gets built by the right tool, in the right hand, at the right moment.

None are worthless.
None are the whole job.

They’re just built different… and that’s exactly the point.

What a night.

To everyone who came out to our very first NO ALUMNI Connection Event…thank you.

More than 80 people registered. Different paths. Different backgrounds. Different industries. Same room.

The conversations were real, the energy was electric, and the connections being made are exactly why NO ALUMNI exists.

This is only the beginning.

Be on the lookout for our next NO ALUMNI Connection Event on August 13. We can’t wait to do it again.

🧱 70+ people. 2 hours. Not enough time.

Last Thursday, we hosted the very first N🚫ALUMNI Connection Event, and the response exceeded anything we could have hoped for.

The room was packed with people from different industries, different trades, different backgrounds, and different generations. Young people showed up. Business owners showed up. Employees showed up. Entrepreneurs showed up. People looking to learn, grow, and help others showed up.

The conversations were so good that when our two-hour event window ended, nobody wanted to leave. We literally had to clear the room.

The pictures are great, but they don’t do it justice. The energy in the room was electric.⚡️

During the event, we challenged people with a simple question:

“What brings you here tonight?”

Are you looking for…

🔹 Advice - wisdom, mentorship, perspective
🔹 Opportunity - a job, client, partnership, or next step
🔹 Connection - relationships, introductions, networking
🔹 Community - a place to belong and grow

🫆What we discovered is that most people are looking for a little bit of all four.

🙏 Thank you to everyone who took a chance on a first-time event. Thank you for believing in the mission. Thank you for proving that different paths, different backgrounds, and different experiences can still come together in the same room.

Something special started last Thursday in Akron, Ohio.

And we’re just getting started.
