Embrace Your Authenticity

Today A little one said to me “Ms Suggs you was kissed by an angel on your chin”. ( referring to my mole). I smiled and yes I was.🥹

Today reminded to embrace who God has created me to be inside and out. For many years as a child I was teased and hated the mole on my chin until the day they sent my senior picture proofs home and my mole was gone 😩. Suddenly I was fighting for the very thing I disliked…a part of my identity. The part of me that made me different. The part of me that others used to make me feel less than. It was that very moment I began to embrace my God-Given beauty mark!

The reality is as adults sometimes we still don’t embrace who and how God created because of what others said that cause our view of ourselves to be distorted… I have learned and continue to learn to see myself the way that God sees me.

So ask yourself “Am I embracing who God created me to be or am I embracing the things that distort my view of how I see me”

5 Ways to Give Yourself Permission to Grow

1. Give yourself permission to outgrow the old you…
This means you can appreciate who you were without remaining who you were. What helped you survive one season may not be what you need to thrive in the next.

2. Give yourself permission to change your mind…
Changing direction after gaining clarity can be evidence of maturity not inconsistency.
Scripture: Romans 12:2
3. Give yourself permission to establish boundaries.
Growth sows up in different way such as changing what you tolerate, what you participate in, and who has access to you.
Scripture: Proverbs 4:23
4. Give yourself permission to be uncomfortable.
Growth and Maturity stretches you. Refinement exposes you. Healing confronts you. Discipleship challenges you. Don’t mistake discomfort for a sign that you’re going in the wrong direction.

5. Give yourself permission to become without apologizing for changing.
Everyone who knew the old you may not understand the evolving you. You don’t have to shrink to remain recognizable.

Give Yourself Permission to Evolve

You cannot become who you’re called to be while constantly trying to preserve who you used to be.”

Sometimes growth requires releasing the old version of yourself that was necessary for a previous season.

You can honor who you were and still give yourself permission to grow!

The purification process is not pretty because the work being done is deep.

Purification requires removing what can’t go with you into your next season. It exposes, stretches, separates, refines, and transforms. Sometimes the process feels uncomfortable because God is working in places others cannot see.

But don’t judge your transformation by what the process looks like.

When you’re finished, you will not look the same.
You won’t think the same.
You won’t respond the same.
You won’t carry the same things.
You won’t settle for the same things.

The process may not be pretty, but the transformation will reveal why it was necessary.

🔥 Stay in the process.
🦋 Let the work be completed.
