Yogi says: if it's dirty, clean it...
How many times have we spilled our drink by mistake or have food fall on our white shirt during a meal? Our instinct is to rush to clean it up, get paper towels and clean up the juice running all over the dinner table, grab a stain remover and scrub...
How many times have we caught ourselves in life in a messy, dirty situation? Often by mistake or by chance? Do we have the same instinct? Do we think and act quickly clean it up or do we run in the other direction avoiding the dirty mess that it has created?
Life can get messy at times. When it comes to emotions and feelings, it is incredibly more challenging to run to the mess and clean it up. Perhaps there is a fear that the mess is just too messy. That the spill has already stained the tablecloth and that it is too late to remove it. The longer we let that stain seep in, the more difficult it will be to get it out.
Challenge yourself to run towards the mess as quickly as you would to that spill with the napkin, paper towel, stain remover... And scrub, dab, dry and clean. There is a chance of being able to leave that tablecloth even cleaner than before.
