These little cutie kits just went out the door to be sold at The Manhattan Street Night Market. It’s in Erie and happening from 5:00-9:00 tonight. This is organized by Baycreek and Co and will have 20 local small businesses featuring all kinds of unique and artsy products, as well as food trucks and live music. We have a busy weekend ahead, and we're so excited about each and every event!

Guys. I had my first two sales at a vintage pop-up market last weekend! Is this a lot? No. But I’m taking this as something to celebrate because baby small businesses do exactly that, start small.

This is a picture of the display. Thank you to the two people who bought these bundles that are filled with curated papers and bits from the past. I hope you enjoyed them and are creating or decorating with them in any way your little heart desires! Hi, and welcome to Ink & Relic! My name is Amy, owner of this little shop that offers authentic vintage and antique ephemera through online orders and in-person vintage market events.

You may be wondering, what in the world is vintage ephemera (I get that a lot). Vintage ephemera refers to old paper items that were originally meant to be used for a short time, not saved long-term—but have survived and are now appreciated for their history and charm.

These can include things like postcards, letters, tickets, receipts, book pages, sheet music, advertisements, and photographs. Each piece offers a small glimpse into everyday life from the past, which is what makes ephemera so meaningful for collectors, artists, and journalers today.

A little about me personally - I live in Temperance, Michigan and have a teaching degree but am currently a stay-at-home mom for my two kids. Ink and Relic is a new endeavor, rooted in my life-long interest and love of vintage ephemera. What began as curiosity, over time turned into collecting, and now, to this shop!

All of the ephemera I use is sourced from estate sales, storage clean-outs, or auctions. They’re often “on their last leg” and on the way to the dumpster. My love of all things old goes hand-in-hand with my love for salvaging and repurposing items to be observed, loved and used again. This is something I not only enjoy, but also believe in as a way to reduce the amount of books and papers going into our landfills.

I carefully go through my collection and curate kits of 25 or 45 pieces. Buyers of these kits are often creative people who appreciate the printed nostalgia and tactile story-telling of ephemera and the days of old, and the bundles are perfect for creating mixed media art, junk journals, collage, cards/tags/book marks, decoupage, or for display.

Jill, over at Merrick and Maupin Mercantile, has graciously partnered with Ink & Relic to begin selling my ephemera products at local vintage markets! I also take online orders through Facebook. I’ll keep you updated on upcoming events!
