“So just to confirm… you want embroidery on the front and the back of the sleeve?”
“Yes.” 😂

I was nervous about this one. Nobody had ever asked for both full front and full back sleeve embroidery. When I reviewed the creative brief, I thought it had to be a mistake. 🤣 It wasn’t.

The vision was pretty clear, but getting it made wasn’t simple. This project called for garment design and custom pattern development to bring it to life the right way.

What’s garment design? That means reworking or building a client’s idea in a format that makes sense for production. It includes determining ideal logo placements, correct embroidery sizing, and in this case, designing the trophies on the sleeve and the wolf on the back.

What’s garment pattern development? That’s the foundation. We build the physical specs of the jacket from scratch, based on a reference or an entirely new idea. In this case, the guys wanted a cut inspired by Pelle Pelle. Most fashion brands don’t release full spec sheets, so we use 3D patterning to create and test the fit on a digital avatar. It’s the only way to get it right without guessing.

What started as “just trying to make custom jackets” has turned into full-scale fashion development. In order to achieve the level of detail we do, I’ve learned how to lead and control the entire process, end to end. Projects like this are the result.

Raw back story about this hoodie 👇🏾

For years, I’ve put my absolute best into bringing other people’s visions to life: designing, manufacturing, perfecting every little detail. I’ve created for brands, clients, organizations… making sure their pieces were flawless. But when it came to my own personal work? I put it last.

Failure has always been my number one fear. Not the fear of not executing, but the fear of putting my all into something… and it flopping. Truly, it feels MUCH safer to pour into other people’s visions instead. Or, at the very least, wait until I had enough buy-in before moving forward with something of my own. Because if I knew people wanted it beforehand, then I wasn’t really risking anything, right?

But here’s what I finally had to accept: Creating because YOU like it is enough.

So these four photos might not seem like much, but to me, they represent overcoming that fear of failure. Creating for me. Trusting my own work enough to not need outside validation before moving forward.

I stopped waiting for the perfect moment. Stopped worrying about whether people would support. And I put everything into this hoodie…not just as a product, but as proof, for me to me. That when I create for ME first, I’ll always be proud of the outcome. This is the most time I’ve spent working on the technical details of a garment, down to the fabric.

And now, I’ve made the best hoodie I’ve ever manufactured. Not for a client. Not for another brand. But for me. For DVN. AND ITS NOT EVEN THE FINAL SAMPLE. 😭

The thing about truly betting on yourself is you stop needing the reassurance, the external validation before you move. You just go all in.

Friend, if you needed a sign to finally trust your own creativity, to trust your gut, just create what YOU want, and stop holding back…this is it.

If you’ve been waiting on DVN’s next drop, let’s talk about your new favorite hoodie: an oversized, vintage-inspired cropped hoodie that’s fashion-forward and versatile.

Our goal is to create pieces that fit seamlessly into your everyday wardrobe, not just for greek events. This hoodie is about authenticity and repping in a way that feels natural, not overly “greeky.”

This will be a preorder-only release to gauge interest and produce hoodies specifically for those who want them. Once preorders close, these hoodies may not return—so this may be your ONLY chance to grab one! Stay tuned for details on when we’re opening the preorder.

We sampled the hoodie in black with our premium 450gsm 100% cotton fabric, but we NEED your feedback:
1️⃣ Stick with black for everyone? (Faster production, premium feel.)
2️⃣ Add org-specific colors? (Requires 150+ orders per org to develop colors in the premium fabric.)
3️⃣ Go with alternative fabric? (80/20 fleece for more colors, but different from the sample.)

Custom moto jackets ate for Homecoming ‘23 and ‘24. This year, we leveled up with leather fabric embroidery instead of traditional twill, and it’s GIVING. 🔥

Next year, a lot of you are celebrating milestone anniversaries (5, 10, 15, 20, 25+ years), and it’s the perfect time to show up in jackets from DVN that you’ll want to wear long after Homecoming. Whether it’s moto, varsity, bomber, or line jackets, let’s make sure you’re ready to head back to the yard. We’ll start accepting ‘25 orders early in the new year, and spots will be LIMITED.

Homecoming might be in the fall, but we’re only taking orders February-June, or until spots are filled. After that, rush fees apply, and we’re not playing this year. 😂 Please allow us sufficient time to collaborate. Get in earlier than later, friends.

Confession about these tees👇🏾

Full transparency… Our Racing Tee Collection deserved better. Let me explain.

When I designed the collection, it came from a need for more from greek apparel. Membership is for a lifetime, but greek wear don’t always to fit into everyday life. Why can we wear our university gear or the gear of our favorite team anywhere, but it feels like we’re conditioned to think greek nalia is limited to greek events? Where’s the ‘life’ in that? 💭

The Racing Tee was our first step toward filling that gap; an ideally bold move to challenge how we think about greek apparel.

But when we dropped these back in March, we didn’t give them the love they needed. There was no photoshoot, few follow-up posts; just a drop and go 🙃. Whether it was fear of stepping out of the box, the nerves of dropping something new after years away, or ADHD doing its thing (or all of the above), these tees didn’t get the push they deserved.

Still, these tees are THAT tee.

This is for the visionaries. The trailblazers. The fashionistas. The streetwear enthusiasts.

I mean, heavyweight fabric ✅, slightly oversized ✅, drop shoulder✅, and vintage washed✅? It’s a luxe streetwear tee, for sure.

👋🏾 Danielle, the founder of DVN here. At the start of this year, I prayed for a way to really show that DVN is more than just “greekwear.” My vision? To create pieces that aren’t just rinse and repeat displays our affiliations, but fashion-forward statements that really bring our clients’ creative visions to life. And piece by piece, client by client, it’s happening right before our eyes.

In January 2024, we made a choice: DVN wouldn’t be known just as a greek vendor anymore. Tbh, we don’t want to only sell greek apparel forever. The vision is so much bigger: we want to be known as a Fashion House. We’re here to make our mark in custom manufactured fashion, where our creativity, our craft, and our commitment to quality redefine what people expect from custom apparel & streetwear.

This shift raised a big question for us: HOW DO WE SHOW THAT DVN IS DIFFERENT? And then, why choose DVN? Why us?

We’re here for those who want something truly one-of-a-kind, crafted by a team that knows garment development inside and out. Hampton Redz, you have my heart! 😭

When THIS vision came across my desk, I was SO excited to create this! Inspired by a Gucci jacket? Ok, no problemmm! 😌 Our goal from the start was to ACTUALLY create a piece that looked and felt like luxury. This is fashionnnnn, far beyond traditional greek paraphernalia. It’s not your typical greekwear, and pieces like this are truly a part of the reason I do what I do.

Bringing a jacket like this to life means going deep into the details. It requires intentionality like no other. It’s understanding not just your vision, but how the garment itself should fit, feel, and fall. 👩🏾‍🔬 This lets me design with intention, from garment measurements to 3D patterns, sampling, and beyond. So, you might just see the jackets and think they’re fire. But baby, unnastannnn, these are uniquely designed + developed pieces inspired by high-end fashion, made specifically for my Sorors. 🫶🏾

Many don’t know, we’ve joked for years, calling ourselves the “Gucci of Nalia.” 😭 Of course we had to do the name justice!

So, WHO is stepping like this?!?! Only , at Hampton University.
