My Story
Hi! My name is Michelle Shaffer. I am the Owner of Created By Chell. I opened the shop in November of 2016 after several friends and family, along with my Husband encouraged me. I’ve been crocheting for over 30 years but not consistently until I was laid off my Medical Billing job in 2011. Crocheting was a great way to de-stress and fill my time. My hobby has become my job and I couldn’t be happier.
Some background about me…. I grew up in Cheltenham, Maryland near Washington, D.C. but married and moved to Idaho with our first child in 1987. With an exception of a few years in Denver and Florida we have been here since. My Husband, Bob, and I have two grown children. Our oldest, Ashley is married to Cody, a Medic in the Army and stationed in Texas right now. We now have two Granddaughter’s, Arayla and Rory, who are our light and joy. Our son, Bobby, lives nearby and we see him often when he isn’t busy with his job with Valley Office Equipment. We now live in Mountain Home, Idaho on 5 acres near the Oregon Trail. We love the life of the country! My husband, Bob, is an extreme hiker with plans to do the Appalachian Trail in a few years. We also have 2 Pit Bull Mixed dogs, Roo and Pebbles, who are our world and giant goof balls. We have one cat, Casper, who adopted us and is the Great Hunter of the West in our opinion.
I strive to stay on top of what is current and in style. I also love to add new items and anything with color. Jewelry has become a new passion and I am learning to sew!
