I am delighted to share this news!!! Kentucky Cloth Project is creating h**p blend fabric. Can you imagine soil to soil clothing manufacturing here in the US again. Oh, my goodness!
The Kentucky Cloth Project will be gathering together for two days of presentations, hands-on workshops, and dinner events focused on regional textile creation in Eastern Kentucky and the re-emergence of local h**p in regenerative textile culture. On Friday, April 21st, an evening of presentations on h**p farming, weaving, and developing a regional textile economy in Appalachia, and on Saturday, April 22nd, hands-on skill-building workshops at Healing Ground Farm will focus on processing h**p with appropriate technology.

Mike Lewis of Growing Warriors will present an introduction to h**p fiber farming, as well as hands-on skill training; Ed Crowley will present Wool, alpaca and h**p milling in Versailles, Kentucky;
Lisa Kriner and Amy Judd of Berea College will bring their Fine Arts and Production Weaving experience to the event; Will Tarleton will discuss h**p agriculture and fashion; Leslie Terzian will lend her perspective on constructing cloth in a Fibershed; Samantha Hamlin of the Community Farm Alliance will discuss defining a Fibershed for Eastern Kentucky; and a Textile Roundtable hosted by the Mountain Association for Community Economic Development.
