The Birth of Venus ✨
Venus arrived mid-June and since has made our hearts full. Her little laughs and tender smiles make the trenches worthwhile.
Giving birth to her was the hardest thing I’ve ever had to do, and meeting her was the best day of our lives. We had our dream birth and up until her arrival, we had been preparing. We prepared our home, our business, my body, and my mind, and took all the classes that informed us on labor, delivery, and beyond.
To say I have the best father to my child is an understatement. took care of us through my entire pregnancy, ensuring I was well fed and rested. He attended every appointment and asked all the questions. I don’t think I could’ve done it without him. He is the rock I lean on and the home where my heart rests.
This journey has brought about so many synchronicities, one of them being meeting our spectacular doula .clc.smw. We met her at a birthing class not knowing she was a retired doula and immediately knew she’d be at our birth. We told her we knew she was going to be our doula and would want her to think about it. About a week later, she said yes and came out of retirement — we felt so lucky! Having her as our support gave us so much strength, comfort, and confidence in our unmedicated birth. She showed up and provided us with so much love and comfort, and helped pull me out of my mental blocks. She also introduced us to her super talented daughter, , who took all of these incredible pictures.
To all of our loved ones, thank you for constantly checking in, for visiting us, and for bringing / sending us food and coffee. We truly feel loved and supported by you all, and feel very grateful for every moment shared with you. Venus knows she’s very loved and we couldn’t thank you all enough for loving on her.
Also, thank you to everyone . We felt truly cared for every step of the way and appreciated you all!
And lastly, a very special thank you to my mom and dad for being there for us through it all. The constant phone calls, visits to our home to help us and feed us, and the unconditional love they share. We’re truly blessed!
