Day 11: favorite masks! I love all my mask.

First mask is from Ankara fabric I got from London. Second mask I made to go with my top. I was reviewing the fabric and it was nice.
The third mask is pink cheetah print fabric I actually got from Walmart and it is very nice!

Day 9: Being a triplet has always been a major inspiration to my fashion career. Yes music, art, nature are all inspiring when designing but the muse behind Elle G designs is being a triplet!
Being fraternal triplets opened my eyes to three personalities, three styles, three careers, interest, etc which serves as inspiration for me!!!

Day 8: Favorite sewing books! While I have many and I definitely couldn’t just pick one here are two of my faves! I love to sketch and perfect my portfolio but I am also creating an empire so these two have come In handy for me! These would be great to add to your collection!

Day 7: Resort/bathing suit look



So this is a bathing suit I created. I sketched it out and had it printed on marker paper and BAM my 2D concept becomes 3D magic.

Day 6: favorite sewing tool! So my favorite sewing tools currently is my steamer and iron. I never thought pressing seams would be the highlight of making a garment but when I tell you this is a step that should never be skipped.
Pressing seams just makes all your garments look nice. It’s when your lines meet up for me lol 😝

Day 5: well my first make is when i was very young and literally couldn’t tell you what happened to that make but, entering into university and wanting to kickstart my fashion courses ASAP this is one of my first makes of my undergrad. The garment had to be made of at least 60% cotton and the fashion show; which I also had help in putting together was a Safari theme and the name of my garment was ‘Jungle Fever’ I actually still have this jumpsuit and the clutch I made to go with it!

My sewing corner is evolving! First picture is my sewing table with my brother machine and my older singer industrial machine that my grandmother gave me!
Second picture is my sewing cutting table that I love. Amen for not cutting on the floor anymore lol still building my fabric stash! My little corner is the best part of my room! Can’t wait to expand! 😍😍😍😍😍

Day #1

Hello everyone! My name is Fleshia Gillon and I am super excited about sewtember! I started sewing around age 11-12 but before then, I used to sketch clothes all of the time. It was to the point I even had my teachers critiquing my outfits 🤣🤣 my grandmother taught me how sew and then I attended Mississippi State University and obtained a degree in Fashion Design and merchandising with a concentration in Design and product development. I love fashion and everything it entails. I can write a book but if you guys what to know more details please check out my podcast interview with link is in my bio!!
