✨️ Boy does life just get weird sometimes. I'm going to ramble a little about the Paisley Meadow relaunch. I haven't created anything new in a while. I've had ideas but, haven't even pulled out my laptop to work on any of the designs. Haven't posted to share anything I already have available either. It's hard to get motivated and stay motivated when you aren't making any sales. Not posting this for sympathy, just being real.
✨️ As a concert ju**ie, there's this high you get from a live music event, the days leading up to it there's just so much excitement in the anticipation, then the show happens, your soul is fulfilled & adrenaline is PUMPING, then...it's over. There's a weird "post show blues" feeling and everything just seems boring and blah for a few days. Creating is the same peak & valley for me. I get a new idea, I create the design, burn the screen, ink the sample and that's all like the lead up to a concert. When I pull the screen off of the tee and see my creation I get so excited and proud of bringing my idea to a tangible item. I cure the design, get pix, post and share with all the excited pride in what I created (show high) then.... nothing (post show blues.) I keep hoping my next creation will be THE ONE. The one someone sees and says "I need that!" and orders. The one someone shares and then their other friends see and someone else clicks, shares, tags a friend, or draws them onto my website and they see other shirts they like and shares something on their feed. Anything. ANYTHING.
✨️ I had a few hundred followers on my old business account, I had networking groups on my old personal account and honestly had more shop visibility with etsy. The downside of etsy is it's completely oversaturated and you can get lost in the crowd but, you can also pop up in a lot of searches for people who may have never seen your brand before. Losing my old Facebook accounts was incredibly depressing for so many reasons, aside from the business aspects I already mentioned, I also had a lot of "memories" lost from when my kids were little and life was so busy, when my Dad was alive and we had our morning coffee dates, and my cat Diego that was the most amazing sidekick for 18 years. I put off relaunching my business for a while. I was in a career that was so draining physically and mentally and didn't have the energy in my little bit of spare time to start over. I had a really exciting moment a year ago when I gifted one of my favorite singers one of my shirts and after he wore it on stage people were asking questions. I was so excited. I had started a new career and had the time to bring back my business now that I was working only 40 hours versus the 65ish I was averaging in my previous career, so I created some new designs, replenished some of my blanks. And then I re-created a business page. I've made a handful of new designs and not one has sold. Not one. I had a few people interested in the design I had gifted the singer, so I thought, "this is it" the interest is back and I officially closed my etsy shop (I had it down to just my signature peace vine tee) and created a new independent website!!! I got ONE order for 2 matching tees. That's it. Nothing in the 4 months that have followed. I had tried posting at least 3-5 times a week and getting all the new stuff on the website but, when nothing happened...my energy & excitement took a nosedive.
✨️ If you've read this far. BLESS YOUR SOUL!! For real. 😊 I try to stay positive and optimistic so this diary entry of a post is a bit off brand. 😬 Sorry!! Just trying to be real for a minute. This would have been a video post by a seasoned "content creator" but, I'm just an artsy crafty girl. It's hard for me to stay consistently posting when I am getting no traction. My business page will be nonexistent in the algorithm without likes, ❤️'s, comments & shares. The lack of consistency is 100% on me and I really need to embrace the camera and post more pix and start doing videos. I know this. I have a couple hundred blank tees in my design studio just waiting to be inked up and shipped out. I just need you all to help my posts get seen. So when I post anything in the future, please at the very least give it a 👍, a ❤️, a comment or a share would be AMAZING!!!
