My Top Tips for the Oregon Renaissance Faire!
Weāve been attending the Oregon Renaissance Faire since 2022 and it has grown exponentially every year! Hereās how we get the most out of our day in the Vale of Dunrose!
āļø Arrive Early or Late
If you want to be there at opening, you definitely need to arrive around 9 and be lined up by 9:30am! By 10am, the entry line tends to be LONG and it can be an hour (or two) just to get in.
If mornings arenāt your thing, arriving in the afternoon after the initial rush is a possibility. If you arrive at 2pm or later, you most likely can walk right in. Faire is open until 7pm so there is still plenty of fun to be had!
āļø Pictures First
I always get a nice photo of me and Ty in our full outfits at the beginning of the day. Our outfits are fresh, the background tends to be emptier, and the lighting is best before noon!
āļøDouble the Drinks
Thereās two taverns with multiple lines and bar tenders but they will get LONG! In the heat of the afternoon, plan on waiting 30-45 minutes for your Mead but you can order 2 drinks at a time so it makes the wait worth it.
āļø$2 Refills
Iām not a big alcohol fan so youāll find me at McGilly Sassparilly! This rootbeer stand sells Sarsaparilla, Birch Beer, and Cream Soda and offers $2 refills after initial bottle purchase. You can get a new one each year or bring bottles from previous years!
āļø Eat Early
The food lines used to be the longest lines we wait in all day so we try to eat lunch between 11am and Noon before it gets too crowded. A lot of the most popular food items sell out by the end of the day so if you want something specific, get to it early!
āļøIf You Love It, Get It
A lot of the vendors handcraft their items so thereās a limit of stock. An item might not be there for very long so if you love it and would regret not getting it, buy it asap!
āļø Leave During Final Joust
If youāre not planning on watching the final joust, itās a great time to get out of the parking lot hassle free! After the show, thereās a mass exodus and it gets crazy! If you are staying for the Joust, I recommend waiting the extra hour until Faire is over
