In the Company of Wolves: An American Journey is a recent documentary that showcases the Buffalo of the Wind River Indian Reservation.

Academy Award winning actor Jeff Bridges narrates the film. The focus is on how animals are shaped by human kind in the West -- and how we are also shaped by our four-legged relatives. Our founder and Director Jason Baldes makes an appearance speaking on his work in bringing back the Buffalo.

It's the last day of National Bison Month! 🦬

Buffalo restoration and rematriation are about relationship.

The Eastern Shoshone and Northern Arapaho have an intimate relationship with the Buffalo and it was attacked at the start of colonization. But here at Wind River Tribal Buffalo Initiative we are working at restoring connection. Buffalo are at the center of our food ways, ceremonial traditions, and political sovereignty.

Healing comes when Buffalo are back on the landscape and we hope you continue to follow our journey the rest of the year!
