8' to 10' of viz at the Ft Pierce Inlet, north beach today. This may be one of the last opportunities to grab lobsters before the season ends. Some are reporting as much as 20' of viz in 60' of water east of the Ft Pierce Inlet.

When you dive, your heart works overtime. 🫀

Hydrostatic pressure from immersion drives blood and fluid from your legs to your chest, while cold-induced vasoconstriction redirects blood from your skin to your core. These blood shifts — along with other stresses diving places on the heart — can increase the risk of a cardiac event, especially if age or disease has reduced the heart's capacity.

Understanding underwater physiology, and acting on that knowledge by maintaining fitness to dive and staying aware of your heart health, will make you a safer diver.
