Passionately supporting local agriculture & economies by sourcing most materials direct from the farm & as close to home as possible. My yarns are perfect for knitter, crocheters, doll makers & other fiber artisans. As a fiber artist, I am crazy about natural fibers - all of them! Much time is spent sorting, washing, combing, carding, dyeing & spinning fiber by hand to create unique yarns for your
creations. I try to source most of my raw materials are sourced direct from the producer/farmer. For wool, I usually buy whole fleeces, freshly shorn, from happy, healthy sheep. I use earth friendly methods to wash it thoroughly. Then, I prepare it carefully for spinning into yarn to share with you. Sometimes I dye the fiber before I spin and sometimes after. It just depends on the fiber & my mood. :-)
I also love to work with silk. Hopefully, one day, I'll be able to buy direct from a family silk farm...Yep, workin' on it...
I hand dye much of the fibers with pro dyes along with natural dyes found in nature. Also, you'll see wool in beautiful, naturally colored fleeces, such as rich chocolate browns, steely cool greys, along with the beautiful with the yummy french vanilla creams. Whatever natural colored wools I can get my hands on, you'll see here, which includes as many of the black sheep as possible. See something that's not quite what you're looking for?
