I am sharing this from Jenny Fisher-Roberts and Josh Roberts. GREAT way to be intentional in your marriage!!!!!
Week 52, no date, trip fund: $$$$$$$$!
This past year has been a challenge. Josh Roberts and I tried to add some fun into it by challenging ourselves even more and adding 52 dates! 1 per week, alternating WHO owns the date. The idea was to reconnect, to create a world where you are thinking of the other in order to set up the dates and make them special. We fell short a few times (but 44 out of 52 ain’t bad)! For each date we missed a nominal amount was set aside to add to a trip we get to take this year, Together… just us! Although we shared some cool experiences, and found that even stay at home date nights can spark reconnection, once a week can be cumbersome with a large family and especially during holidays or vacations! So here is the new plan for 2026!!!
1. 2026 is the year of 24 dates!
2. Each partner must fully plan 1 date per month
3. It doesn’t count if your kids are involved
4. The partner must tell the other at the beginning of the month what DAY the date is planned for.
5. If a date is missed, you must add to the trip fund
6. Birthdays can be included as date dsys, as long as a portion of the date is just you and your partner
We found dates to be heathy and important for us, but pulled back to 2 a month in order to accommodate holidays, travel, kids activities, etc! And a bit less stressful when it comes to trying to fit it all in! We plan to be gladiators for our marriage and fight through the beasts of life that may try to pull us apart in this crazy world- one date at a time 🥰
If you plan to join us on this adveure and do your own “24 in 2026”, please let me know so I can follow along and maybe steal some date night ideas!
