We’ve spent a lot of time talking about firefighter safety.

We should.

But somewhere along the way, “everyone goes home” can’t become “nobody goes in.”

There are civilians on the other side of that door who didn’t sign up for this. We did.

Train harder. Know your job. Understand the risk. Make good decisions. And when somebody needs you, be capable and willing to act.

Safety matters.
But so does the mission.

BE AGGRESSIVE. BE COMPETENT. BE USEFUL.

We get to do this. Act like it.

Get to the station earlier, get off ur a$$ after dinner, wake up early the next morning.
Plenty of options, quit with the excuses
Cherokee Company 9C showing up 45 mins before shift change ON A SUNDAY just to make sure workouts got done

The bugles don’t make you more valuable than the people riding behind you.

Rank means more responsibility. More accountability. More people depending on you.

Your job isn’t to remind everyone that you’re in charge. Your job is to make sure your people are trained, prepared, supported, and better because you led them.

The higher you climb, the more people you should be willing to serve.

Your rank increased your responsibility—not your importance.
