Interesting observation: I have more Jamdani page owners visiting my page than actual customers. My collection is curated from a select few weavers, with occasional additions from new weavers to assess their quality. Each Friday, my weavers send me photos of their latest designs, which I review and select from. However, this process often leads to interactions with Jamdani page owners from Bangladesh, who inquire about the origin of my designs. I explain to them that a design pattern is required to claim ownership, and that, in my perspective, a saree design is merely a design, not exclusive to any individual. I believe that making designs accessible and affordable for everyone is beneficial. Unfortunately, my customers often prioritize color coordination with their existing wardrobe over new designs. Furthermore, they tend to seek vintage collections in traditional color combinations, rather than embracing innovative designs. This highlights a significant difference in consumer preferences between the US and Bangladesh.
