A young European immigrant family saved enough money for passage on a steam ship to America and a New Life. After several days the food that they had brought for the journey had run out and they were hungry.

The father, swallowing his pride, went to one of the ship’s officers and explained his situation only to be stunned by the answer.

“Sir,” the officer kindly said, “You did not have to bring your own food because once you come into this good ship all that you need is abundantly provided to you.”

Most Christians are also living a spiritual life of ignorance just like that man. Because they are unaware of the Benefits, Authority, and Power that they have abundantly available in Christ they sadly try to sail through this life not knowing what things God has provided for them once on His good ship of salvation because of their Lack of Knowledge.

The Bible instead tells us to not forget all the BENEFITS He has given to us (Psalm 103:2) and the AUTHORITY we have over the power of our spiritual enemies (Luke 10:19) But also consider this...

The Bible also says the POWER in us is The Same Power That Raised Christ From The Grave! (Romans 8:11) And there is no greater power than that!!

God has given us these things and much more! All this is written and available for us in the Word of God, but in order to operate with all the benefits God has given, you must first have KNOWLEDGE of them.

Friend, if you are a believer fill your mind with the knowledge of the Benefits, Authority and Power that God has made available to you so you won’t be caught in a situation innocently where “What you don’t know WILL hurt you.”

However if you are not yet a believer in the Lord Jesus Christ the greatest lack of knowledge you can have is NOT KNOWING about the 'Good Ship' of HMS Salvation.

Having a mind empty and not knowing of Christ is the #1 thing that
Will Hurt You.

A tribal native from the deepest part of the Amazon jungle was brought into the big city and was amazed at what he saw.

There were giant 'huts' greater than the tallest trees, light without fire, and air conditioning to squelch oppresive heat. However when he returned to his village the thing he was most excited about was seeing a WHEELBARROW. Here was something he could really use to effectively do to leverage what he needed to do that he could not do using just his own strength.

When we share our faith while working in and through Christ it is like that wheelbarrow!

The word 'effective' in today’s verse in Greek (ἐνεργὴς) is the root of our English word ENERGY! Just as the wheelbarrow helped the native to effectively do his work, Christ in us is the 'Energy Power Source' that always leverages us to effectively accomplish all that we can do to furthering the Kingdom of God.

Friend, when you use the 'wheelbarrow' of the Power Of God in all that you do the energy of your work will always be multiplied.

Are you EFFECTIVELY using the ENERGY of God to do His work?..Or Using Your Own Wheelbarrow?

There is -and has been from the beginning of time- a raging conflict on earth...and all of us are at its center point.

This is a battlefield for the heart and minds of all souls that are currently going 'TO AND FRO' ON the earth and where they will all eventually all go once life is over and they are placed UNDER the earth.

The grave will not be the determining factor of who won that battle. It will be YOU — the soul that is at the center point of the battle of TO AND FRO.

While God above and His angels fight FOR YOU and the Devil and his angels fight AGAINST YOU it is YOU that will be the decider of which one will win. You will either Deliberately make that choice or by Dereliction make that choice, and once in the grave the choice you make while also walking on this earth 'TO AND FRO' will determine your eternity.

Your 'To and Fro' time will end one day.

What will be the outcome of that battle?

Imagine this.

Let’s say that you were convicted of a serious crime and in court; you fully confess, were earnestly sorrowful and took full responsibility for your wrongdoing. Then the judge, seeing your sincerity and repentance instead of sentencing shows mercy and places you on probation.

The legal definition of 'Probation' is a court ordered condition where a person is freed from their transgression As Long As They Do Not Willfully Return To Their Crime.

This is exactly the situation we have before God.

Colossians 1:20 says if you repent then you are “…reconciled to God and (make) peace with Him by the blood of the cross.” Your good deeds or behavior will not save you but there IS a condition of our 'probation' that still applies.

While we are under God’s grace nevertheless being human we will still continue to sin, but as long as we confess our sin the Lord will forgive. However as today’s verse in Hebrews 10:26 says if we Willfully Continue To Sin we violate the condition of God’s grace and essentially violate our 'parole.' When and if you assume continuing in sin is OK 1 Corinthians 10:12 instead warns us:

“Wherefore let him that
thinketh he standeth
take heed
LEST HE FALL.”

Jesus said that the path to eternal life is straight and narrow, however because of free will it is possible to 'willfully' step off that path. If and when you do the protection of probation under the Blood of Christ is broken.

Friend, living the Christian life requires us to walk worthy of the Lord in FAITHFULLNESS and not FAITHLESSNESS.

Where are you willfully walking?

What do people and society think is really important in this world?

It might be politics, policies, and attacking people that they despise. For others it might be unfair labor or trade practices, social justice, the environment, diversity, reproductive rights, the economy, sexual rights, immigration, homelessness, child trafficking, drug laws or a host of other societal or personal issues.

William Shakespeare once famously wrote, “All the world’s a stage” and once us “actors” on it make our exit from this life, what then truly matters? Will it be because of anything we did or did not do about the aforementioned issues?

NO. God only cares about one thing, and that is The State Of Your Soul.

As today’s verse says, God is not here to judge our actions in this life on what We Think Is Important, but what HE Thinks Is Important. In the temporal state of the world, certainly many of these things are relevant and timely, but Jesus said that eventually “Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away.”

You see, All these worldly issues eventually won’t matter, but what WILL MATTER is your eternal state after you exit this earthy stage.

Christ did not come into this world to right it’s ills or to save the planet, but to save US from the enemy of eternal death and bring us instead to eternal life. It is not about being good enough or following a bunch of rules, but simply saying YES TO GOD and to accept his offer of forgiveness from your rebellion and lack of communion with him. As John 3:16 has famously said, “God so loved the world” - and that includes you and me…everyone!

Right now, confess to God that you are a sinner. You Know that You Are! Ask Him to forgive you of your sin and to put God first in your life. That is all He cares about.

Do you care about this too?

It is not uncommon today to see stories of people openly - and even brazenly - Behaving Badly.

S*x scandals by celebrities, politicians caught in cover-ups and corruption, or even those infamous selfish 'Karen' videos of people that thought they brazenly had the right to do, say, or act anyway they want — regardless of any consequence.

An egregious example of this is the pr******te in Proverbs 30:20 where after finishing her day’s work it says “She eateth, and wipeth her mouth, and saith, I have done no wickedness.” From her point of view - and others with the same perspective of their deeds - there is NO accountability, there is NO judge, there is NO “Final Judgement” therefore these is NO “Call To Account”

The Hebrew word here for “account” is Darash which means 'to diligently inquire, question, or search' something. If that is the case, who then is being searched, and who is doing the searching and why??

Friend, the Bible is very clear about two things, but unfortunately many people only get half of the equation about God and His Character.

Most certainly, God Is LOVE AND God Is MERCIFUL, but even greater God is HOLY AND God Is JUST. While He is always willing to give GRACE and show MERCY to those that have fallen and repented, He is equally committed to pronounce JUSTICE and render JUDGEMENT on the proud and unrepentant.

Friend, your choice to live your life as you please is entirely up to you. If there is no god and no judgement, there is no final account. So yes, you can shake your finger at 'god.'

You can and will.....as long as you are you.

If you think about it, every time we do something bad, we justify it first in our mind.

It may be something innocent, like cheating on your diet ('one piece of cake won’t hurt') or cheating on your spouse (we have no love in our marriage anyway) But regardless of the offense, there’s that 'little voice' whispering in your ear that what you’re doing is not that bad is it?!?

You see, when it gets down to it, we also often fall for the same lie that Satan said to Eve by justifying that our little indiscretion really isn’t wrong. For some today it’s often justified under the banner 'God Is LOVE and he wants you to be happy, so just follow your heart and Love and that’s all you need.'

-- Truth Is Not Justified By Feelings --

Friend, be aware of this little scheme. As 1 Peter 5:8 warns: “Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour.”

God is merciful. In fact, God is SO patient and merciful that it defies our sense of justice or understanding!

Dozens and dozens of scriptures continually point to his loving kindness to wait upon all that have gone astray. Like the parable of the shepherd looking for the wayward sheep, God is continually seeking for each person that is lost and is willing to show MERCY to all - no matter how far they have wondered off the path.

However, there is a DEADline to how far his mercy is able to reach...

When people willingly move so far away from godliness, righteousness and truth then the 'Line Of Mercy' changes into the 'Deadline Of Judgement.'

The socially “politically incorrect and offensive” sins that are listed in today’s verse ( 1 Corinthians 6:9-10 ) were not listed in this message. Why? Because for many today, most of the things in this list are perfectly OK, and this raises a question that all of us need to answer, and that is:

What Do You Consider as Righteous or Unrighteous Behavior?.

In our modern free-thinking world, the line between 'OK' and 'NOT OK' is a line of our own choosing. It is not based on any standard, only by what people think or believe. However the question is:

- What is your deadline?
- Where do you draw the line between right and wrong & going too far?
- What to you is acceptable or not acceptable behavior?

Friend, while we are all free to do what we want and think. From God’s perspective there is His Line. From your perspective there is Your Line.

You are free to choose the line you do not want to cross.
— Which DEADline is it?

05/21/2026

Many things in life can trip us up, but a big one that most people do almost daily is “The SIN of COMPARISON,” and the word itself reveals why.

The prefix 'com' means 'with' and 'par' means 'equal' (...just like 'PAR' in golf) therefore the Sin of Comparison is when we score ourselves against others or some human standard as being either being more equal or less equal than others in either RIGHTEOUSNESS or RICHES.

Regarding 'RIGHTEOUSNESS' it is easy to think that because we are not a robber or a murder that we are better than those that commit crimes, but that is not what the Bible teaches. The Bible says that there is no good in us - that ALL have sinned and we are not even close to God’s goodness or righteousness. But there is good news for all those that are believers in Christ because it is the Righteousness of Christ - and NOT that of ourselves - that makes us righteous. Because of His Righteousness He views all of us 'on par' and as equal in His eyes, so likewise we ought to see others likewise!

Regarding 'RICHES' we all have been given different gifts - some tangible and others not. These can be financial wealth, social standing, position, power, appearance, beauty, age, talent, intelligence, health, fitness, or possessions, to name a few. When we look through the lens of the riches ruler and start comparing our RICHES as being above or below others, we again fall into that Sin of Comparison. As part of the Body of Christ, we all have different roles and positions (see 1 Corinthians chapter 12) and because each part of the body is not the same, it doesn’t mean that that you or me are inferior or lesser to anyone else. We all just have different roles and graces.

The question to solving this is “How Do We Move Beyond This?“ and the answer is found in the epistle that says:

“Lay aside the old self, which is being corrupted in accordance with the
LUSTS of DECEIT, and that you be RENEWED in the SPIRIT OF YOUR MIND, and put
on the new self, which in the LIKENESS OF GOD has been created in righteousness
and holiness of the truth.”
Colossians 3:9-10

The key is let our minds being conformed to how God thinks! He is above all, and it is by his GRACE that have everything that we have. It is by his grace we are saved and it is by his grace that we have what we have, be it great or small. Just because God gives different gifts to different people does not mean that you are more or less valuable than others, so remember - we are all ON PAR in His eyes! He loves you and made you just the way you are, so let us so view others through HIS EYES and see that God truly “Created All Men Equal!”

Wait a minute…that’s nuts! Bad people go to Heaven? Isn’t that supposed to be the other way around?

Well this is the big mistake most people make. You see, you don’t go to heaven because you are a 'good person' or live a good life and here’s an analogy why.

You could think of being a good person as being a really good swimmer, in fact you are so good that you could swim a mile or two or three with no problem. Now imagine that that good swimmer (you) was in in the middle of the ocean, and your goal is to make it to land. In this story, the ocean represents SIN and the land HEAVEN. No matter how good you are, you will never make it.

Now let’s say you are a bad swimmer, and you know it, but there was a boat coming towards you. What would you do? Well you’d plead for that boat to get you out of the water and bring you to land. Again, the ocean is sin, and the rescuer is Jesus.

The difference between the good person and the bad person is the 'good people' think they can get to heaven on their own, but the 'bad people' know they are bad, know that they need help and ask for it, and when they do they are delivered to safety. The Bible puts it this way:

“If we confess our sins,
He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and
To cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”
1 John 1:9

Friend, you cannot get to heaven by being 'good,'; but you CAN get there by admitting that you cannot do it on your own, that your sin that surrounds you will cause you to perish, and that you need to confess your filthy goodness and trust in God to deliver you, and He will deliver you out of your righteous ocean of sin.
