Have you ever tried looki
ng for matching socks or shoes to go with the adorable outfits retailers have for little girls these days? We know our children don't care what they wear on their feet, but as their mothers -- we care! We love our shoes. So why is it so hard to find children's shoes that we love too? Even if you find a pair of cute shoes, they are too expensive to have to buy a new pair every time your child grows. If you are like me, I want my little girl to have as many pairs of shoes as I do. I can't afford that! THE PROBLEM:
When I began shopping for clothes for my growing little girl, I became very frustrated with the lack of options for infant footwear. I settled on a pair of white tennis shoes and a pair of white Mary Jane's and thought I could at least find socks to match the outfits. Wrong! The pink socks were not the right shade of pink. Besides, maybe I want more options than pastel pink, purple and yellow! I remember standing in the store, looking at the slim pickings, and thinking to myself "There has got to be a better solution." A DREAM:
Unsuccessful shoe shopping must have lead to the dream I had that night. In the dream, we were in a hurry to leave the house and I was dressing our baby girl. I was taking the straps off of her shoes and replacing them with different straps decorated with ribbons and flowers which matched her pink outfit. I had a pair of matching straps for every one of her outfits. THE "AH HA" MOMENT:
When I woke in the morning, it hit me -- interchangeable shoe attachments! Snap-on accessories which can fit most shoes with laces or straps. That will not only save me from having to buy expensive shoes for her every month, but I can use the attachments for the next shoe size, and so on. I could keep the matching accessories until she is at least 5 years old and that would save me tons of money! This was very exciting! THE SOLUTION:
I quickly ran to the local craft store and bought ribbons, silk flowers, elastic, snaps, glue, etc. and began making the attachments I remembered from the dream. I brought them home and started working on the idea. The result turned out beautifully. They turned out so nice I made another trip to the craft store to find buttons, gems, beads and any other embellishments I could find. I made a pair of matching attachments for each of her outfits and I couldn't be a happier. PATENT PENDING:
Strangers began approaching us while I was out with my daughter who was wearing the SNAP BABIES™. They asked where I had purchased them so they could buy their own. The interest was overwhelming... so, here we are today. Today are proud to announce we are patent pending and have finally gone in to production! COLLECTIONS:
We have added collections to our SNAP BABIES™ family of products to include women as well as girls. SNAP BABIES™ can now be worn on shoulder bags, purses, scarves, belts, sashes, maternity bands, headbands, hair clips, barrettes, hats, etc. They can also be used with candlesticks, wicker baskets, napkin ring holder, etc. Display them any way you like!
