I never want my kids to say
“ugh mom & dad are fighting again.”
I want them to say
“ew stop kissing, get a room.”
I want them to grow up knowing love isn’t quiet.
That affection doesn’t disappear once life gets hard.
That respect doesn’t vanish when voices rise.
I want them to witness us disagree
without tearing each other down.
To hear apologies said out loud.
To see repair happen in real time.
Because kids don’t learn love from lectures.
They learn it from what feels normal in their home.
And I want this to be normal.
