🥳 Happy Birthday Momma! 🥳
To the world you might just be one person, but to me you're the best mother I could have ever asked for! I am who I've become and continue to grow because of you, Momma! You've never been one to brag about what you've done but I'm going to for a few.
Some might say, you're bold and blunt, and a select few know deep down who you truly are. My generosity came from watching you work countless hours of overtime growing up to provide many families over many years things they needed. The one that sticks in my mind the most, the family that was to be evicted on Christmas day. We left bags of gifts on their doorsteps, and you told me to ring the doorbell and run like hell.
I'm proud that you're my mother! Even through all the struggles that life has thrown your way, you still show up! Only those who have lost a child or battled your childhood scars could ever understand. And as you always taught me, we leave some skeletons hidden in the closet. And you still somehow seem to love others and yet ask for nothing in return.
After you retired as an aircraft painter, you came to help me at the shop. I'm forever indebted to you! Your resilience continues to amaze me! Nothing in this life was ever given to you, I think some would be shocked to hear at one point in your life that you lived in your car! I think life evolves us over our lifetime to show us what really counts.
Growing up, you always made sure that my brother and I had what you never did, a childhood! All the memories we shared between dance, traveling, school activities, you made sure we had what we needed! You always made time for us no matter how tired or overworked you were! And I'm thankful every day that you are my mother!
Life throws us so many curveballs over the years, the loss of Bubba, your only son, and then my pregnancy loss. You taught me that the world doesn't stop when it feels like ours does in tough times. Thank you for making me strong and showing me that even in our darkest times, what matters is that you show up.
I don't care what people think much anymore. I know the woman who raised me. My momma isn't like most. She's took in kids who were homeless, gave her shirt off her back, and helped those who didn't appreciate her. MOMMA, I AM PROUD TO BE YOUR DAUGHTER! Through everything, I know that I can always count on you!
And 2025 brought us another curveball! After a 16 day hospital stay, colon cancer and begining stages of glaucoma, You're My Hero! Continuing to fight what battles life throws at you! You're the bravest woman I know, and I'm thankful every day God made me your daughter! And I'm blessed we're still cancer free in 2026!
