A nice friend just sent this beautiful left over yarn to support the project of making “Warm Hats for Cool Kids”, who need proper clothing for outdoor recess n our cold New England winters and other winter regions.

If you’re willing to knit or crochet a hat for the cause, let me know, and I’ll pay the postage for the yarn!

Welcome to Warm Hats for Cool Kids!

We’re a site dedicated to knitting and/or crocheting winter hats to donate to schools with kids who need warm hats for winter recess play.

It’s also a community of knitters and crocheters who can share, request and/or swap yarn colors, as the pattern is conducive to using up our leftover yarn stash for a good cause.

Feel free to ask this group if you need a certain amount & color. I’d be happy to accomodate your request if I have the color you need!

My first two donations to elementary schools in Manchester, NH were a very gratifying experience.

I’m using up more yarn over the summer to deliver warm hat donations in early October.

The pattern for this project is the cover photo.
