Firstly… thank you to every last one of you who commented, liked, and loved these posts. Clark is absolutely back to his normal frisky self today, which I am both overjoyed and terrified about.
No one tells you about how you, the owner, will feel after your pet has a near death experience. I keep replaying those moments where I’m watching his life slip out of his body. And the helplessness you feel when you don’t know how exactly to keep him safe and healthy for the rest of his life.
We somehow lucked out and were able to get an appointment yesterday with a vet allergist and they are doing a blood panel to hopefully determine what might have triggered this. But the fact is that we might also never know.
I do not do well in situations where I am not certain of the outcome, I don’t like surprises, and I’m not a fan of the unknown. And with something like this all you’re dealing with is uncertainty.
I am going to attempt to lean into distractions and as you might have noticed I’ve been doing very little dyeing work so far this year. To be honest I’ve really thought about letting Sleeping on Rainbows go. I’ve been struggling with burnout and imposter syndrome for quite a while but I think the distraction from my current situation will do me a world of good. So expect to see some new creations from me real soon! But in the meantime don’t forget I’m running a 45% off EVERYTHING sale on my website til Friday!
