"Trend forecasting and design consultancy are related concepts, as trend research precedes the design of products or services. Trend forecasting should be done to ensure that our products and services are useful for as long as possible. I work to avoid creating something that becomes useless or goes out of fashion. This already saves energy, materials and maximizes profit in the short term. A good

quality, durable product can be worn for years, retains its value, and can even be sold again. In design consultancy, I believe it is important that a brand’s products, services, packaging, and communication are authentic, easily distinguishable, and functional. I work out my trend analyses based on research, but at the same time, following my intuition."

Kollab is my latest project: My team and I were responsible for creating a community space from scratch.

We wanted to challenge visitors to interactions with matchmaking between people arriving from different disciplines. The space is changing its face monthly, thanks to hosts who organize programs and influence the atmosphere. The installative and multi-use furniture creates possibilities for different activities; concerts, table talks, co-working activities, workshops, exhibitions, showrooms, food tastings, markets, live acts, and so on. The modular logo also changes with every host.

We created this space for you, enjoy your time here and follow the transformation of Kollab. This project is a complex collaboration among talented people.

Meta Spaces

“The age of social media has brought a new type of space into the world of fashion retail. When architecture and fashion meet in the creation of ephemeral spaces for the immediate presentation of new collections, for example, these temporary but real spaces are brought into the realm of the everlasting digital space as they are shared and re-shared on platforms like Instagram. Fashion spaces can best be defined, then, as a co-created, ever changing and prevailing meta-space where the dialogue amongst designers, consumers and industry leaders continues well after the real space has vanished.” Vésma K McQuillan

“The Eight” fashion campaign video collage projected onto a spatial installation. A collaboration between KEPP Showroom fashion designers (Teréz Havancsák, Anett Hajdú, Szandra Hofstadter, and Adél Kovács) and ZOA 3D Studio.

I’m Adél Kovács, and the focus of my interest is how fashion brands present themselves through architecture and interior design. I work as a trend researcher, fashion designer, and design consultant. I studied at the Moholy-Nagy University of Art and Design and the London College of Fashion, and graduated as a fashion designer. Currently, I’m a DLA student at the Marcell Breuer Doctoral School of Architecture (PTE). This week, I’ll show you how fashion and architecture interact in my independent and collaborative projects.

Photography art direction and mentoring for graduate collections

Wang Yia Ju / Sence of Unity
Vicky Lee took Mingwei's performance as a reference for her design, combining it with the Blinding Whites, So Transparent, and Shade of Saffron trends from Vogue. The collection is not only a combination of Asian and European cuts but contains references to traditional Buddhist clothing as well.

Regina Baranyi / Passion or Depression
In her collection, Regina reflects on her and her generation's biggest dilemmas. “Are you fighting to become someone? Do you know how much cucumbers cost? We are a sad generation with happy pictures. I want to live, not just survive.” The paper is also a tribute to Barbara Kruger's MOMA exhibition, “Thinking on you, I mean you, I mean me.”

Jázmin Abu Zant / Reupholstered silhouettes
Jazmin's collection was inspired by the different textures and shapes of Pamela Shamshiri's residence. He used furniture-like materials, heavy jacquard, and lacquered papier-mâché.

Jázmin Krutek / Foreign Relations
Jázmin's collection is based on the video game designed by artist Mimosa Echard. The video game takes place in a psychedelic, seemingly surreal and erotic universe where slime mushrooms interact with each other. For the samples, she manipulated her own photos taken in her permaculture garden.

Petra Ács / Dynamic Arcs
Petra's method of making clothes is based on the idea of a building designed by Frank Gehry for the Louis Vuitton Foundation. The human body is the structure of the building, and the clothes are the gestural roof structure balancing on the wearer. The glass structure is made of a pleated organza fabric, heat-pressed onto the adhesive lining.

"The modern warrior jackets move and breathe with the dancers, enhancing their motions. The lightweight and non-creasing fabrics allow the whole collection to be folded into a single small cabin bag making it a breeze to transport them on the performance’s international tour."

Inspired by the iconic samurai armor, the contemporary dance costume collection „It Contains hard parts” features lightweight technical fabrics and laser cutting technology, utilising the advantages of digital fabrication in distributed design. The modern warrior jackets move and breath the danc...

I made that kimono from seven different types of paper, in my first year of university. I found the reference shibori technique kimono in a book that my brother had bought me in Japan. I have such a nice memory of working on that piece day and night with a lot of support from my family.

Dreaming about opening a kimono store.

Waiting for that new trend.

"Emptiness plays an important role in my life. “Ku,” gives me the opportunity to unleash my creativity without anything distracting me. Therefore, I only own exactly as many objects and garments as strictly necessary in my daily life."
