Flora Aros
This short sleeved Kebaya combines a hand-woven textile from Baduy called Aros, with hand embroidery and needlepoint. Aros is not a material that is commonly used for kebaya because of its thickness (it is usually used for a sarong), but because it is cotton, soft, and can be embroidered, it turned out quite unique!

As the perfect match for the Beskap Adas, this batik from Solo is handstamped in Parang motif, and hand-dyed in "sogan", a popular natural dye made from extract of the soga tree. This is usually used for most classic batiks in Solo, Central Java area and give a range of colors from orange to browns.

Beskap Adas
3/4 sleeved asymmetrical top, with the silhouette of a "beskap" (traditional Javanese male suit), which is also often worn by women but named "Kebaya Janggan".
Hand embroidered in Adas (= fennel plant) motif. The fennel spice is among the many local spices which were sought after by the Portuguese explorers, used for cooking and medicinal remedies, and this design was inspired by the "Passage To Spice Island" collection by Rengganis.
