Background:
The founder of Schitzo Apparel is a 20-year old guitarist who plays in a newly established, increasingly popular Indonesian band, who wishes to remain anonymous. In the beginning, Schitzo lovers were limited to the fans of The Guitarist who currently has over 90,000 followers on Twitter and more than 200,000 fans on Facebook, but the brand gradually started to attract young people outside the fans’ sphere as well. Schitzo has put tremendous effort and devotion in order to create exclusive products and is now one of the most sought-after apparel brands in Indonesia. Some of you may wonder why The Guitarist picked the name “Schitzo” for his apparel. Well, it was inspired by his favorite pet whose name is Bonbon (in French it means “candy” and it’s pronounced “bonghk-bonghk”), a 5-year old male, blue-white, long-haired Persian cat who loves to sleep like most cats, but also play and go crazy. Sometimes, for no apparent reason, Bonbon would run around the house, pushing doors open, going up and down the furniture, tumbling upon objects that stand on his way, and end up exhausted at The Guitarist’s working room. There, Bonbon would quietly snuggle close to the Guitarist and watch him develop concepts for his new catalogue or listen to him plucking the strings on his guitar. The Guitarist calls those exciting moments “schitzo”, which to him actually means “mood swings”. As The Guitarist is deeply into art, however, those moods quickly translated into "artistic mood swings” which became his inspiration for new ideas for developing a wider range of product lines.
