Freshly painted and reupholstered chair by yours truly. 🧵
Priced to sell at Crow’s Hold Vendor Market this week.

Reupholstering to give new life to hideous furniture is one of my favorite hobbies at home. With my air compressor/staple gun/sewing machine combo, I’m unstoppable. (It’s taking everything in me to NOT recover my dining room chairs between tasks with some fabric rolls floating around the house that are PERFECT, but I digress… )

I’m so thrilled to have the means by which to display my upholstery work and get it to you through my booth at Crow’s Hold Vendor Market.

There’s currently a dining room set I revived available for sale, and now this glorious green chair. 💚

As my partner was packing yesterday to jet off for a west coast tour, he found a moldy orange had fallen into his carry-on last time he used it. Whooops. Time to make him a new bag!

I sprung into action, podcasts playing in my ear and sewing past midnight. Then up early this morning and finished it by this afternoon.

His carry-on bag was my large diaper style bag I made for us when our second child was born. I only made 10 or so of this style. He loved it so much, I remade it exactly the same. (He loves the interior elastic pockets originally for baby bottles or wipes 😜)

A few upgrades were in order… wider straps made a huge difference, more padding, color coded interior zippers, a book pocket on the outside. I especially loved using a wavy stitching details on the sides and bottom.

We sure are going to miss him, but I’m happy he’s got a fancy new bag to take along. 🤓😘

Black vinyl is always a coveted textile around these parts. Rare in the world of exclusively sewing with remnants. Everyone always wants the sleek all black bag. I cut carefully. ✂️

This crescent handbag is a true one of a kind and made with the thinnest most durable vinyl I’ve encountered. It’s like butter. 🧈

I was only to fabricate ONE bag in this style and colorway. After sewing a few smaller bags, I’m out of this textile now, so 🤷🏻. There it is. True slow fashion. One of a kind. 🪡

This bag features a gingham interior with a zipper pocket for small things. 💄

Get it at secondwind.bigcartel.com if you’re into slow fashion and comfortable bags made by artisans that dislike social media. 🙃

Secondwind.bigcartel.com is now live.

Yesterday, I sweated through my first product shoot in years. is the perfect space to find a wall in the back and slowly photograph my bags with mannequins. While customers kept sneaking up and getting some behind the scenes glimpses, I was able to shoot almost all of my new bags.

I’m still editing and adding through the weekend.
More bags coming next week as book another shoot, with humans this time. 😛

Come say hello at today (Saturday)! I’ll be working the afternoon shift and hope to show you around the amazing space with over 80 vendors and artists!

What I mean when I tell you I use ‘deadstock’.

This week, Banta Furniture let me pick out three pallets/skids of their fabric leftover from furniture production. End of rolls, leftovers from orders.

I’m already cutting into these ‘new’ to me fabrics and bringing finishing bags to .

Huge shoutout to Rebecca and everyone at Banta for sharing their ‘waste’ and I was so thankful for the fork lift operator. 😛

There’s enough fabric in this world already, and I’m not buying a single brand new yard for my sewing. 🥳
