SOME NEWS

Hello everyone, we hope you are all doing well and getting into the groove of 2022. How is it almost March?! 🙄 We've been very quiet on here over the last few months and we're about to tell you why....

After almost 10 years of living in Australia Ash has decided to pack up and move back home to Scotland be with her family. Like everyone, the last 2 years have been testing to say the least and has seen a lot of people re asses their situations and where they want to be. For Ash that is close to home ❤

Holly will still be crafting her amazing lino prints here in Melbourne while Ash begins teaching workshops at Glasgow as they both embark on new adventures across the ocean.

We are both so grateful that our paths crossed when they did and through our love of printmaking a beautiful friendship blossomed. Thank you to every single person who came to one of our classes and supported us living our dream. Stay tuned for possible Holly & Ash reunions... "Print Safari on Tour" has quite the ring to it don't you think?

CLOSING FOR WINTER

Hello beautiful people! Thank you all so much for your support on our last post regarding our workshop this Sunday. This will actually be our last workshop until September (all going well).

The lockdowns here in Melbourne have just chipped away at our little business and our hearts this past year and we mentally can't go through it again. Cancelling, rescheduling, refunding, re booking, cancelling again. It's a lot of work and we both manage other full time jobs too. So we are a little bit exhausted at the moment.

We feel it's the right decision over winter to close the doors for a bit and also for us to recharge our creativity and think about what's next for us personally and for Print Safari. We hope you all understand and we hope you too are all coping OK with everything that's going on in the world right now. Sending lots of love 💙

INTRO TO SCREEN PRINTING - SUN 20TH JUNE

How cute is Holly in her screen printed apron? 🥰 On Sunday you will be able to create you own individual stencils before printing them onto your cotton apron!

Hopefully the weather stays nice and dry and we can get outside, explore and take inspiration from the convent gardens 🤞

NEW WORKSHOP - help spread the word please 🌻

Lockdown 4.0 hit us hard energetically this time and we are feeling so heartbroken for those in the creative, events, music industries along with many other small businesses that are really struggling right now. Big love to all of you 💙

We have a few spots left at our June 20th workshop this Sunday where you get to screen print your own fabulous apron which you then get to take home or gift to someone you love! This will be our last workshop until September (more details on that to follow)

Even if this class isn't for you we would love you to share this post with someone you think would love it. It would mean so much to us to have this workshop at capacity and help us bring our community back together through creativity.

Who enjoys hibernating in winter? Me! 🙋‍♀️

After the events of the last year I realised how much time I spend either working in my day job or working on Print Safari and honestly there wasn't much else that I was doing just for me! 🥺

This winter I am determined to dabble in little activities that fill me with joy or things I have wanted to try for a while but have maybe been too scared. (I've recently started 80s themed dance classes at , which I am loving) and it just feels so nice to break up the week and shake up my routine with something so fun!

Yesterdays workshop flew past so quickly but then they do say time flies when you are having fun! 🥳 We are so grateful for this beautiful space where we can connect with others through our craft and share our passion of printmaking! CRAFTY CATCH UPS - 1ST JUNE

As life sees us getting busier again here in Melbourne we might be struggling to make time for those little creative projects that bring us so much joy and we think we have the perfect solution....

Join us on Tuesday evenings in June in our cozy studio where you can work on your craft or creative project alongside other like minded people in the community. Share your work, give each other feedback and tell stories over some fine wine and snacks. The perfect combination, right?

It doesn't matter where you are on your creative journey, everyone is welcome to attend. General art supplies will be on hand if you don't currently have something that you are working on. Think embroidery, slow stitching, drawing, colouring, watercolour painting, the possibilities are endless!

Maybe this is the sign you need to take up that new hobby you have been pondering!

23rd MAY - Intro to Screenprinting

In just a couple of weeks we are hosting our introduction to screenprinting class in our lovely studio . 🎨

This class starts off out in the beautiful gardens, drawing inspiration from the grounds and surroundings of the convent before heading back into the studio to design your stencils. 🌻

In the afternoon the class becomes quite energetic as everyone begins to print onto their fabric and move around the space. My favourite part is when the first person prints and everyone stands around watching and holding their breath. When the beautiful print is revealed there is usually a big cheer and a few "WOOHOO'S"!

WHAT A JOY!

What a joy it was spending the whole weekend with these amazing women! Over 2 days we learnt about lino printing and the process of hand colouring.

We started the morning outside in the stunning convent gardens before heading back into the studio to think about our designs and compositions before printing and hand colouring.

Holly is so talented in this type of printmaking and she thoroughly enjoyed sharing her passion and experiences with these beautiful humans. 💙 For me, I loved the chatting and the energy of having a lovely group like this in our space. Everyone sat around the big tables drinking tea and wine and sharing little snippets of their lives with one another and to me that is pure magic.

It takes courage to push yourself out of your comfort zone and try new things, so thank you, you beautiful bunch. 🌻

As we focus more on our workshops and art practices this year we have decided to put a pause on any further garment collections. We had so much fun bringing this little dream to life alongside an amazing team of makers .dandy.n and we still pinch ourselves that we had a stall at . It was such an amazing experience!

We put so much love and hard work into making our Silhouette Collection and we want to share that with you and see our garments out in the world being enjoyed by lovely people like you. We have marked down all of our items under $100 and you can find them via the link in our bio.

We hope you find something you really love and can treasure from our collection. Our garments were designed to be transeasonal and I personally love nothing more than pairing my dresses with tights, boots and a skivvy in winter 💙

LW&D X PRINT SAFARI

We are absolutely stoked about this workshop on Thursday 6th May! 🎨 We are teaming up with the amazing for an evening of printing and vino-ing! Over 3 hours you will design, carve and print your very own tote bag which you then get to take home.
